Improving each day, been doing a whole bunch of resting myself, ploughing my way through first 2 seasons of True Blood lol.

Just gotta rest up buddy, hit the vitamin C etc hard and you'll be back training full pelt in no time! Always frustrating when you get ill, but just makes you more motivated for when you get back to it!

Yeah a lot of the top benchers advocate squeezing the bar as tight as you can when you bench to activate the muscles in your forearms and triceps more in the lift, personally I've found it does make a positive impact on your bench when you do it! So yeah get training dem wee lassie hands lol Grin

Scrap my comment asking you how training went on Tobys journal, just realised you had updated yours doh!

Looks like a good session, your bench is coming on well!

I too have wee lassie hands lol, if big Toby and Ross couldn't get that pinch grip challenge then it must be a very tough one like!

Heal up well man! I'm looking forward to seeing a 160 bench out of you in the not too distant future! I was gonna say I'm catching up but that's wishful thinking to a whole new level lol.

Cheers buddy, I'm hopeful I will still be able to Bench this week, but strongly doubt I'll be squatting or deadlifting.

How'd training go today? From looks of Tobys journal you guys had a good session!

Bench Press training today, this is only week 2 of the new routine so things were still pretty easy, as a result I decided to pause all the reps. Just did some light assistance stuff after Bench Press as I am still paying the price for Mondays Squat workout lol.

Things went a little like this ...

Paused Bench Press
1 x 15 50 kgs
1 x 5 80 kgs
1 x 2 100 kgs
1 x 1 120 kgs
1 x 1 142.5 kgs
5 x 3 127.5 kgs

Light Bench Press
1 x 15 100 kgs

Rope Pushdowns
1 x 12 28 kgs
2 x 10 31.5 kgs

Dumbell Lateral Raises
2 x 15 16's kgs

Rear Delt Cable Flyes
2 x 12 12 kgs each side

Ez Bar Curls
2 x 12 50 kgs

New routine is going well on bench, I'm looking forward to things getting a bit heavier next week.

Yeah Drew you met myself and Bryan, but I don't think you would of met Neill, no doubt will in the future though as he's keen on doing powerlifting comps.

Squat training today and it was utterly brutal!!! I think it's fair to say I over did things a little bit at Halloween and that combined with very sore hamstrings and lower back did not set me up for a good session today!

I knew things were gonna be really tough, but Squat is my big weakness so I bumped the weights up from last week and just toughed it out. Things went a little like this ...

Squats
1 x 10 60 kgs
1 x 5 80 kgs
1 x 2 100 kgs
1 x 2 120 kgs
2 x 8 145 kgs

Paused Squats
2 x 5 135 kgs

Seated Leg Press Calf Raises
2 x 15 190 kgs (all stack goes up to sadly)

Hip Adduction Machine
1 x 25 145 kgs
1 x 22 145 kgs

Crunches
2 x 30 Body Weight

Weighted Side Bends
2 x 25 25kgs each side

This was probably the toughest Squat session I've ever done, alot of the reps were slow and a real battle to complete, but regardless I still managed to hit all my reps for this week so I am delighted with this. As I found out at my last competition things aren't always gonna go your way and your not always gonna be in top condition so hitting my targets for the day despite the circumstances was a good achievemnt for me.
