Superb PB Ross!

You should definitely have 290 + for a single in you now!

I've decided not to compete with them in 2012 for two reasons. I'll not get selected for GBPF Masters teams if I compete internationally with WDFPF; and living this far away it's going to be hard enough to compete often enough in one fed, farless two. As you say, there's a lot of good lads in BDFPA, just a pity the politics doesn't allow us all to lift under the one umbrella. Surprised I never ran into Joe> Maybe because I only did single lifts?

Yeah it's unfortunate everything is so divided, if everyone in Scotland competed together in one federation there would be really good competition in pretty much all the weight classes, perhaps one day lol.

I'm pretty sure Joe is a bench press only competitor but I honestly don't know if he has ever competed outwith comps in Scotland.

Lol, let's nip this in the bud, that was tongue in cheek, read first post again. Never knew Marc Keys was Scottish, not heard of Joe Coogan, never run into him when I've done BDFPA over last five years, 170 in the 100s is very impressive, especially if unequipped? The best Scottish lifter is probably Mike Pemberton from Marc Giles stable in Horncastle, but he didn't make the comp so I'm claiming bragging rightsWink

Yeah Joe's lift was unequipped. Sounds like you should try some Scottish BDFPA comps if bench press is your thing, their bench only division is probably the most competitive overall, you obviously have Joe lifting there plus recently a guy did 162.5 kgs at 80 BW. I've never competed with them myself but know one of the guys who runs it and he seems to be a good guy.

Only the ones that matter Wink And thanks Happy

Marc Keys is the top bencher in Soctland ... 190 kgs @ 105 at GBPF British Unequipped (he's Irish by birth but classed as a Scottish lifter since he has lived here a long time and qualifies through Scottish comps).

Joe Coogan has done 170 kgs @ 98 BW in comp recently and is masters 2 (BDFPA).

I'm not trying to detract from your lifting as you are obviously a good bencher and you seem to be a good guy who is trying to do good for the sport, but claiming to be Scotland's top competitive bencher is a bit off the mark lol.

Awesome session buddy! Stevie's an amazing deadlifter, can't go wrong with his advice (or Ross' for that matter).

I don't think you have been reading all the Scottish results Martin Wink

Anyways, welcome back to Scotland and good luck with your training.

Dumbell shoulder press - 8@26, 8@30, 9@34(PB) Felt like there was a tenth there as well...

Sumo Deads - A nice easy 4@150 beltless after my 2 warm up sets.

Barbell Rows - 12@70, 2x8@90

Cardio (yes you read right) 10 mins interval on concept 2.

Some nice stretching to finish and a set of headstand abs just for the hell of it.

All my training now is purely for fun - no comps for a long time to come. A nice wee session to ease back in. Happy

Good to see you back at it buddy!
