nice benching Neil when you start using an olympic bar you,ll probably add5to10k on your bench straight away just because the bar is more stable.I would have thought 93x5
would mean a one rep max of more than 100 next time you try for one!

ate virtually nothing all day and smoked about a million fags consequently felt
like s**t and trained like s**t, came in bollocked the kids and threw the fags in the bin!

bench press 90k x1 95kx1 100k fail 60k 5 60k 5

decided after failing the 100k bench there was no point trying to go heavy so kept the weights light and cut down the rest to 1 min between sets.

bor 60k 10/10/10

skull crushers 36k 10/10/10

strict dumbell preacher curls 10k 10/10/10

now off to root through the bin for my fags!!

very impressive lifts sivvy if your scrummaging ,line out work ,ball carrying and rucking and mauling are as strong as your gymn lifts you should be looking to play at the highest level! what are your goals as far as rugby are concerned?

squatting today and I kept it simple concntrating on getting below paralell which I think I have finally achieved and have video evidence to proove it!

squats 80k x5 90kx5 100kx5 120k x1 130kx1 130kx1 140fail

weighted situps 10k 10/10/10

not bothered that the weights are very light just pleased that I finally managed to get low enough! jogged for 5 mins and did some stretching before squatting and I think that really helped me to get lower!

www.youtube.com/v/XKXMoTqCQSE 100kx5

www.youtube.com/v/Rcdm_TtxbS0 120k x1

be interested on peoples opinions if this is low enough or if I'm just deluding myself!

thanks for the input lads, I think Ill go for the one week speed one week heavy but be
fairly relaxed about it so I can still go heavy both weeks if I feel up for it !

have recently heard a theory that the less often you train the deadlift the more you can pull .I am quite interested in this as I have a fairly physical job and deadlifting seems to leave me feeling completely knackered.
As a fairly inexperienced lifter would this be of benefit to me or would i be better off training it everyweek to perfect my crappy technique, and if i was to try it say you deadlifted every 2 weeks what assistance would you do on the week in between?
I like the idea of it but am a bit scared that if I deadlifted only once every 2 weeks i would loose strength.
be interested to hear peoples opinions!

» Ed 's training journal (Go to post)16-06-2007 @ 09:25
at the moment I mostly train at home and 185 is all the weight I have,so ive got to buy some more plates or wait till I go to the farm powerlifting club.Since Ive just bollocked my wife for frivolous spending I dont think I can swing buying the plates at the mo.(I always like to keep the moral high ground)
