06/08/07 squatting again today legs felt a bit stiff at first and I had trouble getting depth but after some stretching and lots of warm up reps they loosened up.

speed squats low bar wide stance 45 seconds rest between sets 60k/2 70k/2 80k/2 90k/2 100k/2 110k/2

to say the 100 and the 110 were speed squats is probably a bit of an exageration but the intent was there !

felt really good and strong at the end of these decided to go for a squat pbpsyched myself up loaded 140 on the bar squatted down really low and had the mother of all grinders getting back up ,must have taken a good 10to 15 seconds to get back up!
really pleased to get the 140 as I should have had it at the comp but bottled out of going for it!
unfortunately no video evidence but if you dont believe me you can kiss my skinny white arse!

good mornings 60k 10 65k 10 70k 10

weighted sit ups 10k 15/15/15

sit ups 30

made up about the squat pb I feel like a major mental hurdle has been crossed!

I would say bum off bench ,no pause and not locked out,but still f**king impressive to almost cheat press 1036 pounds!

they're alright mate pretty much a tricep only exercise , really only doing them because I'm limited to what I can do at the mo,still good to be training again after a short lay off and I think I actually enjoyed squatting on friday which is a first ! Your training's looking really good at the mo you must be pleased really strong on the bench and that sqauts just a tweak away from hitting depth ,pretty impressive considering your training at home woth no spotter and lifting kerbs all day!

paused close grip bench (ultra close and ultra strict) 50k10/10 60k/8
dumbell curl 20k 10/10/10
dumbell skull crushers 15k 10/10/10

tricep's well and truly fried ,did the close grips really strict so they were pretty much a tricep only exercise so no shoulder pain.

friday 3/08/07
operation blitz the legs has begun!

front squat just touching arse on box 11" high ( which for me is about 3" below paralell)

60k 5 65k 5 70k 5 75k 5 80k 5

paused box squat high bar narrow stance

80k 2 90k 2/2/2/2

found the front squats pretty hard ,breathing is difficult( especially for someone who only gave up smoking 4 days ago) and it was a bit of a battle keeping the bar from falling forward ,I guess this will improve with practice.

was planning the box squats as a speed workout but they where more of a grind ,never done box squats that deep before ,good session though really enjoyed it!

legs aching like a bas***d today! whats the score with this creatine Ive been taking it for 4 days now ,why am I not superman already !

We'll see Ed, I don't know so much. Don't know if it showed in that video but I was a little bit scared just before I started lifting and then I just went balls to the wall. Am I the only person to get a little bit scared before doing a heavy deadlift/squat


would'nt go so far as scared but deffinitely apprehensive! I think its the first bit of the lift where your pulling like f**k and nothing seems to be happening! its probably just fear of failure which is a good thing!

not for a while I'm resting my shoulder for 4 weeks which means no deadlifting so I'm going to concentrate on squatting and front squatting to try and build up my piss weak legs and then when I do start deads again I'm going to be concentrating on getting my technique better and bringing my legs into the lift a bit more! It will probably be a 2 steps back to go 3 steps forward sort of thing ,so in answer to your question probably
end of september /begining of october! by which time you will hopefully provided me with lots of targets to aim at!

definitely not mate with five reigning east midlands champions training there it has to be the powerlifting mecca of the midlands ,the term real was only in relation to myself!

was one of those uninspiring session, was kinda lazy on the squats and deads and paid the price for it on the squats.


if 260 x3 deadlift is being lazy then lazy might just be working for you!
