Same here Mark, if you need any help then let me know.

Any comp that Mark puts on is going to be a great comp, the u90kg comp last week was a great success and was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone, I feel the same will happen with this next one

All those lifts are do-able john, and more !! what sort of equipment are you allowed ? double ply everything ?

have you been tinkering with your avatar ? thats not the nice one i did for you johnboy !

I think you can use anything mate, ive got a hardcore squat suit and rage bench shirt, just going to order some briefs and possibly a deadlift suit depending on the money situation. Hopefully I can achieve the above lifts and more, just depends on how well training goes.

And yeah I tried tinkering with it to make it look better but Ive messed it up, not good at things like that

I've just done my first strongman comp and came 4th and will be looking to do my next one in the new year. Im now spending the next 7/8 weeks training for my next powerlifting comp which will be the GPC Worlds in France in November.

My current best lifts are as follows:

Squat - 282.5kg
Bench - 190kg
Deadlift - 260kg

My goals for this comp are to hit 300kg on Squat. 200kg Bench and 275kg deadlift.

Just to let everyone know who is interested I came joint 4th in this comp

Silver dollar deadlift 380kg(pb) (pulled somthing in my shoulder on this lift, think I would have got 400kg but oh well, it hampered me in some events) came 2nd

Viking Press 100kg(for reps)got 12 reps (pb) i think, finished mid table

Farmers medley (75, 95, 120kg all for 25m) think I came 2nd or 3rd not sure of timebut was another pb

Super Yoke (260kg for 25 meters) came 2nd, did it in about 8.5 seconds (pb)

Medley (80kg tree stump, 3 flips of 350kg tyre & 300kg+drag) came mid table couldnt budge the drag

Atlas Stones (for reps) think I did 9 reps with the 120kg stone (pb), not sure where I finished in this event was too busy getting tape & tacky off etc plus was really tired.

Overall was very happy with the days performance and cant wait for my next strongman compHappy

I was very impressed with you Sunday. Thought you had some very good performances and considering you where out weighed by some margin, you did good.

Was this your first comp?

Some of the guys should never be doing novice comps. Some thing needs to be sorted with this as this is clearly unfar, I don't often watch comps but as my mate was competing i went to support him. I was shocked in the standard of the novice and quite pissed off that some of these guys were competing... so much so I felt like competing myself to make a point.

As it has been mentioned before, I think JT will agree with me on this. If you place top three in any comp you do not ever do a novice comp again, even if you have just won a comp two weeks before and then win the one you have put your name down for before. You pull out and get your arse in an open comp or u105kg.

Thanks mate, Yeah this was my first one, really enjoyed it and was really happy with what I did, looking to do another one soon, although will be on hold until I after my next powerlifting comp. I think everyone did really well

Thats very good for your first comp. If I was you I would certainly be looking to compete at u105kg for next year. I was very impressed with your static strength but even more impressed with your yoke and farmers. You must have trained very hard on the events for that.

Keep up the good work and will look forward to seeing you compete at 105!!!

Yeah Im looking at doing u105kg comps next year, I train at Cleggys gym and he has some top strongman equipment there so that helped alot, I might do another novice comp first though, although I might just get straight stuck into some 105 comps, I finished 4th so it a fairly high placing, and considering some guys there werent really novices, I think I will just move on
