I don't know the exact process. But it's something like the winner of continental and world champs. Then by wilks ranking. Or I think you can get in on a wild card where you are randomly selected...that's my understanding anyway

Does anyone know where live results can be found? Normally goodlift follow it but this time the World Games have provided there own laggy stream!

Not updated in a while, but here we go:

Monday 24th September

Last session before the Western European Cup

Squat 260 x 2

Bench Press 150 x 2

Openers at this point looked like 260/150/225

Friday 27th - Comp Day!!!

Feeling good, but feeling light, didn't know how this would go....

Weigh in at 75.97kg....f**k sake

Openers set at 260/150/225

Squat - 260, 275, 282.5kg. All passed, 282.5 (PB) was a good grinder!

Bench Press - 150, 160, 167.5 (PB) All passed, should have gone 170, but a PB none the less.

Deadlift felt good so upped to 230kg

230, 245, 250FAIL!!! Failing 250 meant that British Lifter Ben Burgess had to pull 267.5 for the bronze...I watched from the sideline swearing and hitting things....

He pulled it! ar****le!!! Very well done to him, he had a s**t day on the other lifts, but pulled it out the bag when it mattered. Takes a lot of guts to do that I'm sure you will agree.

Anyway 695kg PB total and first time over 500 wilks (503)

Went out on the piss with Phil Richard and the clan, took 48hrs to fully recover! Thanks 'mate'

IainKendrick said:Looking good if 275 is a 'run of the mill' load now?

I must admit it doesn't give me the 'fear factor' anymore. I find that confidence is half the battle, especially with equipped lifting. Feeling good though, will probs open around 260

Wednesdays training;

I was in a bad mood.

2 x clean + 1 jerk
60, 80, 90, 100, 105xf

Snatch,
40, 50, 60, 65, 67, 70

Pretty good really. Considering I use 'powerlifting' tekkers. I.e no technique at all.

Finished with some heavy tricep work with a mind on equipped lifting for next week.

Thursday (today)

Equipped deadlift

160, 200, 220, 230, 240, 250xf. Failed 250 just below knee. Same old can't grind a lift, confident it will go on the day though

225 x 2. Opening weight for next weeks comp

Bodyweight this morning 75.1. Worrying! But strength seems ok so who am I to complain! Should have competed at 74? Nevermind, the focus is still on becoming a lean 83k lifter by the time I become a senior lifter. 2.5 years to go!

Thanks everyone.

So from last Friday:

Deadlift - 200, 220, 240 xf

Seem to fail too easy when it starts getting hard, need to learn to grind the bas***d! Went back to 150/180 for 3/5's trying to work on tekkers.

Saturday:

Didn't plan on training, but my knee sleeves arrived, so trained anyway

Squat - 160, 180, 200, 210. Wanted 220 but grinded the s**t out of 210. Left it there for Monday's sesh. Knee sleeves are awesome Happy

Bench press paused raw - 100, 120, 130. Still testing the pec tear, feeling better now but by no means healed. I will be cranking up the treatment and resting it a lot more after the Western European cup next week.

'Assistance' - Bulls**t chat for biceps. Guns for show, bro.

Monday

So freshers started on Sunday night, slept for three hours, went to work all day then trained. I was f**ked after this...

Suit bottoms;
180, 200, 220

Full kit

250, 275, 290xf

Failed 290, pretty gutted as 275 felt smooth. I think the set up was s**t, took ages to get into place and it felt heavy as f**k!

Walk out with 300....took 2 attempts as I didn't realise how heavy 300 was LOL.

Nearly died.

Today (Tuesday)

Shirted bench press

100, 120, 140, 150, 160, 165xf

Failed 165 on lockout, really thought I had it so I guess thats why I failed? Took it for granted. Anyway 165 would have been a PB at 80kg bodyweight, so VERY happy I gave it a good go still sitting at 76kg

Thats all the Powerlifting training, have also done a lot of powercleans around 90k.

JH said:Welcome Alistar good to have anothe GBPF lifter on here, why do you get so little from a bench shirt?

I was up at a 145kg raw bench before the 'suspected' pec tear. Before that I hadn't really trained in kit for a while. Best bench in comp was 165kg in July 2011. That was when I was working with ~130k raw bench. I think I could do a bit more now when I get back into the swing of things, 150k on Tuesday was in no way a max effort, just dont want to mess it up before the Western European Cup at the end of this month!

Wednesday:

Bit of a faggot session to be honest, just did ab work, tricep work and had the pec treated.

I train with Bournemouth Barbell in Bournemouth (obviously). All my sessions are coached by Paul Rees. Train with about 50 different athletes across 7 days, from Powerlifters to Sprinters.

Tuesday;

Bench press.

Still having treatment on the pec, was very cautious being in a shirt, but to be honest felt a lot more comfortable than raw.

Lot of warm up sets etc. 20k x 25, 40k x 20...etc

Bench shirt:

130
140
150 all x 1

Happy with this, glad to not have any pain

Monday;

Day after the classic, feeling good considering.

Wraps only squat 230
Full kit 270

Still a bit high, but first time back in kit since April. Gym PB before this 285kg

Thought I'd start a little log to remind myself what I've been doing!

I've competed in powerlifting for 5 years (now 21 years old), lift for both the GBPF and the BDFPA. Bodyweight has been up to 81, but is now back down to 76 after a broken hand and various other things!

Current PB's in competition are;

215/130/232.5 @ 76.1 unequipped (GBPF British Classic last Sunday)
272.5/165/250 @ ~80 equipped.

Since breaking my hand I've been doing a lot more variation training, getting strong in the places where I was to be honest very poor!

Competed on the weekend at the British Classic as above, PB total whilst still struggling with a pec tear/injury.

Banned! After the results of a longitudinal test case. Whatever that means..

Oh dear. I must admit the logitudinal test seems to be a great way to detect these things. No doubt he was not the only one put on this test.
