Yes, the surface deforms and reforms more...given the length of time you are applying force in PL Vs Sprinting the effect will be somewhat less drastic.

Sounds about right

If I get this right- the harder the surface the greater reactive force.

That's why harder the surface on an athletics tracks the potentially faster times.

Guessing the softer the surface the dissipation of force in unwanted directions?

Best post on here IMO.
Altho i understand why the classes exist and i dont argue that, if you need a calculator to prove lifter a is stronger then lifter b does it even count!?!

You'd have to be a moron to do that. You could claim to be a 'better' lifter though Happy

Group 1- Alkali metal.

Highly reactive. I wouldn't put any on my food unless you wanted it en flambé

Chris Duffin redesigned protein shakers recently. He created the worlds only protein shaker that is a chore to fit any protein into, while simultaneously declaring he’d solved the problem of small necked protein shakers that you can’t fit protein into.
You’ve got to admire the brass neck required to be so visibly full of s**t.

😂 But is the logo on it cool?

Dildo shaker? I cannot think of anything else a shaker needs to be redesigned to do. I mean can you put liquids and powders in it, shake it and drink it? Jobs done right?

Wow. A culture adaptation is probably long overdue. Off course let's hope they can nail it.

Pretty much the same if I'm honest, and I'm remembering them (it's been a while). The preludes seemed a bit dull with the odd lightbulb moment, but I think they played heavily on my emotional attachments to great characters set up in the original trilogy. The prequels were all out taking advantage of the fact that writers can get away with a lot more nowadays that would have been offensive in Franks time. The relationship between Erasmus and Serena Butler was evil and in parts leading up to the Butlarian Jihad were very near to the knuckle. I thought the lead up with the titans and cymeks was good background too.
God knows how I remember this stuff after reading it once, but need my phone to tell me what I'm doing on any particular date Unhappy

😂 good summation of the preludes. Some good moments and ideas but overall a bit bland

I'm going to watch black panther tomorrow sooooo excited I'm 37 for god sake lol.
Tongue

My guess is Black Panther is overrated. At least a couple of my friends have suggested such.

BR2049 I think is now one of my favourite films

It is to me, and may be to you also.
There's a mini series with James McAvoy as Leto II which is worth a look too if you haven't already. I'm a bit of a Duney TBH, and hopeful that one of these things will be good enough that they carry on past God Emperor and into Heretics. That's where the religion, sex and drugs really kick off IMO. Orgasmic amplification sounds a hoot.
I think that the effects are available now to make Franks vision happen.

What you think of Herbert Jr's Dune books? Thought the prequels were enjoyable, but preludes not great. Him doing the final book wasn't to hot either. I shan't be reading it again and I read the Dune series from prequels onwards every couple of years

Have you see the david lynch adaptation of that? 1984 flopped at the box office got panned but I think it's good, although I am a fan of lynch in general.

Dune is my fav SF novel/series.

I love film too. I saw thst as a kid first before reading Dune in my late teens. It's still way better than the 90s films

As for Netflix SF thought Star Trek Discovery was one of the best star trek series to date. Although did not like the Klingon redesign.
