Nice one, Neil. You'll need someone to help you get it on and spot you, etc. I'll try and video me putting one on on Monday and post it on your log.

Tonight's gayness:

Lat Pulldowns - 6 plates for 20; 7 for 18; 8 for 16; 9 for 14; 10 for 12; 11 for 8; 12 for 6.
Facepulls - sets of 10 with 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 plates.
Arguing While Standing - sets of 10 with 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8
Low Pulley Arm Curls - 4 plates for 10; 5 plates for 10; 6 plates for 10 x 3.
Hammer Curls - 2 sets of 16 with 10s; 2 sets of 12 with 15s; 2 sets of 10 with 17.5s.
Cardio - 25 minutes for 367 calories.

Reflections: It's daft that I can do far more on facepulls than upright rowing. Been avoiding the rows for years because of golfers and tennis elbow problems, but I really need to build them up gradually now. Curls with a light weight were embarrassingly hard. Again I need to build up gradually. In spite of the light weight on the curls, I've been having arm cramps all evening whenever I bend my arms. Reduced the cardio by ten minutes in the light of last Friday, and will build it back up to 30 minutes over the next couple of weeks. Also, neck and shoulders are tight as hell. Think I'll book in for a massage. Maybe the one Fat Pete uses?

Made it to 1 minute 30 and had enough. Well I had enough after 18 seconds but, sadly, kept watching.

Cheers lads. Neil, I've got 4 F6s! New 48, 46 and 44 and a used 46 for training in. I'll be doing board work with the new 46 on Monday, but avoiding a touch! I'm hoping the 44 might be a 200+ shirt once it's broken in a bit, but I'm focussing on the new 46 atm.

Thanks Iain. As Matt hints, my raw bench is as good as it's ever been, but I've not yet been able to translate that improvement into equipped benching. I'm hoping the band work I've been doing for the last three months has helped, and I'll be getting into a shirt next Monday, which will mean a break from my planned heavy day programme. I haven't decided how to structure next Monday yet (if you haven't got a coach you HAVE to know what you're going to do before you get to the gym!!) but I might do some heavy singles in my new shirt to a 2 inch board (keep some spring for comps!) and see what I can lock out from 2 inches up, then do some heavy singles with one band and maybe go for a one band PB, then maybe some heavyish sets of 5 with maybe 135 to get a bit of volume in. But I worked so hard Monday that my body almost literally couldn't function Tuesday. Don't know if that's good or bad?!

I've also started on creatine today for the first time in years. Holland & Barratt sale and all that!Started loading today; should be fully loaded for the NW Raw Bench.

Mate with those sets of 5 reps at a good strong weight you had better hit the 200kg mark this year, my shiney head is coming to watch you lift by the looks of it in May or whenever it was, and I will not hasten to throw things (peanuts, bits of lint, the occasional poo which also happens to be where the peanuts are from etc) at you all day until you hit the 200kg mark.

Infact even better, I am going to put a fake old man beard on (and golden leotard), fake a piss test to be 'drug free' (I never take paracetamol!!!!) and come and do it raw to spur you on.

Lol at that. It would nearly be worth missing 200 to see the Griffster in beard and golden-wear. If it's helps, I've got a spare nearly-gold leotard that would fit a big lad with a small chopper.Grin Grin

But seriously, thanks for the encouragement. I obviously worked hard, because I couldn't go in to the gym on Tuesday. Chest cramps Monday night, severe doms Tuesday, and shattered all day. And that deep pain that seems to be right down almost in the bones. Hopefully tendon growth and not arthritis! Recovered about 10.30, just as Taggart was finishing, so I'll do some gayness later today.

s**t. I was on page 3 tonight! Of the training journal pages, I hasten to add, before anyone starts getting too excited by the thought of my shaven, oiled, pumped pecs...

Felt really tired tonight, had to force myself to go to the gym, everything was one big struggle...

Bar for 10
40 for 10
60 for 8
80 for 6
100 for 4
125 for 3
145 for 5
145 for 5
145 for 5
140 for 5
135 for 5.

One band on and

100 for 5
110 for 5
120 for 4 (didn't even attempt the fifth)
110 for 5
100 for 5

Band off and 100 for 10 to finish.

Not done three fives with 145 before, so I guess that's a sort of pb. I find it difficult to accept I'm writing that because I felt flat the whole way through and couldn't stop yawning. It's a funny old game, this. Didn't quite make the top five with the bands but no big deal. I did two extra sets of five (140 and 135) because the others were on their five threes day and I was on my three fives. Not surprising that these ten extra reps robbed me of a fifth band rep on my heavy set, I guess.

John WW continues to impress. Five fives with 145, managed the fifth band rep on 120 that I missed, and finished after all that with 18 reps with 100.

Glad I forced myself in - hopefully will have more energy on Thursday.

Catts next Monday and a bit of shirt work...
