should have been as easy single if not double.... doubled 160 about 3 weeks ago and singled 180 in the same session. Raging with myself.

Hopefully the complexs will burn a few kilos Grin god i love the near black outs i get from them

Bench/Tris for the first time in about 8 weeks on Thursday. Actually looking forward to bench for once. No idea where i will be with this.

Then friday - some speed deads west side style. Followed up by some reverse band heavy triples.

s**t s**t s**t

Squats
20kg x12
60kg x8
100kg x5
140kg x5
160kg x3
165kg x2

170kg x1 - was told i was 1-2 inchs high

170kg x0 - failed it, pretty much just sat down. Bar landed on my ipod which was on the support. f**ked it.

Squats all felt heavy as f**k, and i just wasnt there tonight. Slow and unmotivated. s**t

So i had to punish myslef:

Hang Snatch
40kg 2x5
50kg x5

Complex 1
Snatch 60kg x5 -> Back Squat 60kg x10 -> Press ups x12 -> Step ups x8 per leg

3 sets of the above with 120seconds rest

Complex 2 40kg on Bar
Bent row x8 -> Hang Clean x8 -> Front Squatx8 -> Military Press x6-> Back Squatx10

5 sets with 90 seconds rest.

f**kED

im pretty happy with it.

300kg RAW before my 21st and then we will see about some equipment.

Quite fancy a Squat max out session in a week or two now. Must be able to break the 200 mark at least.

So it know becomes 300kg by my 21st (27/10)

Today in the Gym

Deads
60kg x5
100kg x5
140kg x8
180kg x5
210kg x3
220kg x3
240kg x1
245kg x1
250kg x1
255kg x1 +5kg PB
260kg x1 +10kg PB
265kg x1 +15kg PB
272.5kg x1 +22.5kg PB

Less sets and less reps early on and I feel 280 would have went tonight or more. Delighted thou Grin
I was still sore from those continuous squats, had worked a full busy day and only had 5 hours kip. It all bodes well. Grin Honestly didn't feel tired or sore after them. Still don't. See how I am in the morning thou...

That know means my Deadlift is nearly 100kilos ahead of my squat... which is just plain wrong.

Well, take it from someone with piss weak legs who is relatively new to training them, I've started doing legpresses and rear squats on smith machine. All I know is my legs hurt like fook for days after if I've put some effort in, leading me to the conclusion that they must be doing something good! Me and a mate do 10 to 1's with the leg press: get a light weight, do 10 reps, jump off partner does his 10, when he finishes, get back on and do 9 etc etc all the way down to 1. Excellent way to finish a leg session or any other body part for that matter.

unless your stats are lies or poor ROM, you don't have weak legs in comparison to the general public.

Any new stress is going to hurt thou, and DOMs doesnt all equate to better strength/size gains.

272.5kg Deadlift or higher

why use a smith machine when you can just use a barbell for the same movement?

Leg presses are fine as long as they are done with a barbell only and unracked from a squat rack.

http://www.oldtimestrongman.com/images8/leg_press.gif

He may have problems keeping the bar on his shoulders so in a smith it would make it easier to perform the movement without losing the bar from it rolling forward possibly.

x2

Plus would using the smith not keep him upright than a barbell therefore hitting the anterior chain more so than the posterior?

It would also take some of the stress off the lower back which would give him more recovery from deads anyway?

just my 2 cents..
