That is not going to get you strong, it will pump you up and build your lactic level tolerance but will not make you strong. All those exercises are doing is isolating different heads of the tricep and creating sarcoplasmic hypertrophy, perhaps a little protein filament breakdown but not much. Heavy compound movements for strength, regardless of muscle. Would you recommeend leg curls and leg extensions to build leg strength, no. You would use them in a strength routine but not for strength. Best strength exercises for triceps - C/G Bench; Weighted Dips and standing French Press. | |||

I am posting this in the original thread so People can look back at actual statements made, as something has really been bugging me since watching the UKSC finals. Firstly a few disclaimer: this is not an attack at Chris gearing as he is an awesome strongman and has a very bright future(one of our up and coming boys); I had proved myself useless on the day and had go e to hospital by this point so it did t really affect me but it did a few friends of mine. On the day Chris could not pull the truck and the event was changed because "if Chris couldn't do it as he squats 400kg then no one can. As you will all have seen on TV Chris could not do the conans wheel (something I'm sure he's more than capable of but on the day couldn't). On a personal note I genuinely felt gutted for him. However, glen did not change the event because one of the strongest lads there couldn't do it. This to me proves that there was bias on that day a d it is also in other comps as well, but it should not be evident in Su h a high level comp. I understand this is not going to make me popular with some people, but I don't believe in biting my tongue and talking about something without airing my opinion. Would like to know what other people think |
