Oh dear oh dear. Gentle reader, those of a nervous disposition should maybe stop reading now, but those of an enquiring mind should maybe carry on. It is with a heavy heart that I type these words, but it happened and thus I shall record it. Pull up a chair, pour a drink, huddle a little closer and a tale to you I'll tell. A tale of high adventure.
At 4 in the pm, just before I left work I went to the toilet for a dump .I do this every day. There was nothing unusual about this. Arriving at Adders just before five, I have another. I gain considerable peace of mind from the knowledge that the departure lounge is empty when I squat. Nothing usual here. On comp days the bogs do a brisk business just before the off.
As I was squatting I became aware that someone had been left in the departure lounge and wanted out. He would have done me a great service had he stayed put, but he was an unreasonable man. There was no reasoning with him. After an uncomfortable and slightly worrying three sets I adjourned to the to the bog and released him.
I was gone no great time and got ready for my fourth set, Oh sweet mother of all that's good and pure, to say I was all at sea would be an understatement, fluency was gone, smoothness was gone only depth remained. Maybe his untimely release had messed with my internal pressures I do not know, but something happened, something bad. So I ended it there. We shall class this as a light week and carry on next week as though nothing has happened.
I am not happy about this, it's a rum do and no mistake.

some of the comments are rather...err... odd

109.000 is just wrong.

The comments are odd, they seem to be mainly from men who either want to f**k me or want me dead. Fortunately no-one has tried to make either of them happen, so far.

Sunday, 15th May, start 13:30

Weather miserable today and none too warm, but a few light benches are in order

Bench, raw, and snappy

20 x 20
20 x 20
20 x 20
20 x 20
20 x 20
60 x 5
60 x 5
60 x 5
60 x 5
60 x 5
60 x 5
60 x 5
60 x 5
60 x 5
100 x 1

All crisp and snappy and not overtaxing in the slightest. I have good news of several health fronts, the neck is fine, as is the shoulder and the shin, cold is drying up after just one day, so although this may cause me to impale some part of me on something sharp or to fall off something tall, I might just suggest that things might just be picking up. So far, so good, but giddyness is quite some way off yet. On my return I watched Inception and a right load of old bollox that is, why does dicaprio always seem to play people who are not right in the head ?

There was insulin in that bag too I believe.
Not sure if he turns out on 'a' Friday night with zero cash, or just that one. In fairness I brought out £20 (for 2 of us) and as Fred told us the night was on him I ended up taking it home with me. I thought that was the nature of the evening so I'm with Turner with that one, although I didn't play pool.
Incidentally, who did he play and did he win? Grin

I take your point and I would wager that most there that evening has less cash than they would have had if Fred had not been paying, but it is quite one thing to walk out of the house with only a "just in case" twenty quid and it is another to not have a single penny to your name. He has done it before and then gone to the pub and begged a drink off someone never to repay it. As he never carries cash he will never have to put his hand in his pocket. In my opinion this is not an endearing characteristic. He didn't pay me again either tonight. It's £2 now.

He play Rick and was whooped, it was only his fourth shot were he managed to hit a ball before he hit a cushion. Mean he may be, but he remians a class act

Friday 13th May, start 16:00

Thin on the ground today and I have a very runny nose, damn the thing.

Deadlifts, raw, all kilos

70 x 5
70 x 5
70 x 5
70 x 5
70 x 5
110 x 5
110 x 5
140 x 5
bar on floor, me on board
140 x 5
160 x 5
180 x 5
200 x 5
220 x 5

Tbar row, very strict, still kilos

40 x 10
50 x 10
60 x 10
70 x 10
80 x 10

Just as I finished DrRick entered and I dislike leaving folk to bench alone so I stayed for a chat and very interesting it was too, names were the topic of the day, and the affect of marriage on a woman's title and surname. Plus on seeing my snotty state the word "neti" was whispered. I feel a google coming on later.
In recent weeks I have stopped these at 200, but these were really rather nice tonight and so I had to press on, the 220 was equally good but I left it at that as I am purposely avoiding weight and replacing it with reps for the time being. Much fun tonight, shame about the nose.

It's a quid now.

I still can't believe he turns out on a Friday night with zero cash and no cards, but he does bring an apple and a bottle of water

Wednesday, 11th May, start 17:00

Bench, raw, new movement, but tonight I will add weight every fourth set until the "clang" goes.
All kilograms, all paused

20 x 20
20 x 20
20 x 20
20 x 20
20 x 20
60 x 5
60 x 5
60 x 5
60 x 5
70 x 5
70 x 5
70 x 5
70 x 5
80 x 5
80 x 5
80 x 5
80 x 5
90 x 5
90 x 5
90 x 5
90 x 5

Clang went on the fourth of the last set, so I stop now.

Incline flyes, still kilos

14 x 8
14 x 8
14 x 8

And that will do. "Clang" is the noise made by the weights hitting the bar, the bar is powered explosively off the chest and then is stopped at arm's length by the hands, the weights have no such constraints and so carry on apace until stopped by the bar with a "clang" sound. When you can no longer force the bar up with sufficient force to make this happen, it's time to stop.

It being Wednesday I am off the the home of the tubular bandage to see a very pleasant blonde and to hurl her against every wall in the place to make up for the fact that I was not able to last week.

175 PB hovered for f**king ages for no good reason, so did not attempt second
170 equal paused PB absolute cake
140x10 PB

The 175 was awesome, to hover for so long and still to complete speaks volumes, to get it that wrong bodes very well for when you do get it right.

The 170 paused was almost effortless. A thing of real beauty

Monday 9th May, start 1700

Squat, leotard, no belt, no wraps, all kilos

60 x 5
60 x 5
60 x 5
60 x 5
60 x 5
100 x 5
belt on
140 x 5
wraps on
180 x 5
200 x 5
220 x 5
230 x 5

The leg was giving gyp tonight, but not too much. The first three worksets could have all been better, but the last one couldn't, DrRick assures me it was a peach of a set and well worth the wait. Hot tonight, very sweaty,

Leg curl

No 19 x 10
No 19 x 10
No 19 x 10

And that will do it, worked in with Aaron tonight and as he was on his top sets as I was warming up things seem to take a little longer than usual, Still no great problem there, it does no harm to change the pace of a workout now and then

Sunday 8th May, start 12:45

Popped along primarily to spot for Joe but did some very light benches to impress into the muscle memory yje new and amended movement.

Bench, raw, all kilos

20 x 20
20 x 20
20 x 20
60 x 5
60 x 5
60 x 5
60 x 5
60 x 5
60 x 5
60 x 5
60 x 5
60 x 5
60 x 5

These are getting better. Now- reasons to be cheerful, my neck was not troubled by these in the slightest, my leg is improving, the internet appears to be fixed and I have my watch back, I had a non-runner yesterday so I have lobbed a cheeky tenner on United Chelsea to finish 3 - 3 at 66 to 1. So here's hoping.
