Friday, 30th April, start 15:40

Deadlift, raw, slippers but no belt, all weights in kilos

60 x 5
60 x 5
60 x 5
60 x 5
60 x 5
100 x 5
100 x 5
140 x 5
straps on so double overhand grip
180 x 3
220 x 3
240 x 2
250 x 2
260 x 2
270 x 2

Deadlift from hang

180 x 5
190 x 5
200 x 5

Splitcleans

60 x 5
60 x 5
60 x 5

The powercleans are new to me, and really rather awkward, but I can see, even with this weight that there is something to be gained from doing them. Stylish I am not, elegant I am not, but right from the word go you can tell they help. I suspect that they are a keeper, hopefully some modicum of finesse will appear from somewhere, not sure where, if not, bollox to it, we shall press on regardless. End 17:45

Just because someone gives you a drill doesn't mean you have to start drilling holes in things. They could make my limit a hundred grand and I would still only spend what I could afford to repay, It's called "not being a complete muppet"

Is that what they told you???? And you believed them?

No. I believed you. Finding out I shouldn't have was a hard thing to do

They always weigh light on days they aren't used to compensate for the extra weight on days they are.

Thought everyone knew that

Kept forgeting to post this.

Last Friday jake was squatting and was having some difficulties, he was explaining these to Joe who was listening intently and offering possible solutions, Turner ambled over, grinning like a fool and joined it.

"Thy were all over shop, all over shop thy were, they were all over shop, thy were all over shop, thy made a balls of it, a reet balls of it, thy made a proper balls of it. Do it again, do it again now, go on, get it done"

Joe - "Steve, f**k off"

"Reet, yar"

Please tell me they are all overweight !

Good news then.

The Eleiko with the two big discs weighs 105 kgs

The bar with the emery cloth round it, which used to be on the old racks in the corner plus the same discs weighs 102.5 kgs

The two red 20 kgs discs actually weigh 21.25 each

The two pale Reg Park 45 lbs discs actually weight 18.85 kgs each

All others are near enough to not bother about

The depth issue is dammed annoying as the weight doesn't feel heavy.

You will thank them in the long run

Excellent news. Just take your time getting the weights back up to what they were. No rush, get the technique right and the weights will follow.

Monday 26th April, start 17:15.

Late start due to having to weigh certain items of kit kust to make sure. All is well, panic over.

Squat, new suit, no wraps, no belt, straps down, all kilos

70 x 5
70 x 5
70 x 5
70 x 5
straps up
105 x 5
105 x 5
105 x 5 quite a bit of scraping on the legs during these, but I'm in it now
145 x 5
185 x 5
wraps on
225 x 3
235 x 3
245 x 3

All good and fluent and deep, in fact the last set was so deep that DrRick who spots me regularly was sure I had mad a balls of it and wasn't going to get up, he was about to make his move when up I popped jack Quick. Even Alan commented on that set. Felt much happier in myself this week rather than last and I anticipate feeling a shade better next week than this. That isn't based on anything tangible, but I feel it will be the case. End 18:30 and offski
