It would seem like a shame to loose all the old records/history ...What does anybody think?

They should leave well alone in my opinion, they are meddling for the sake of meddling. Personally I can't see a single advantage to it.

Wednesday, 6th October, start 15:00

First we spend some little time working on exactly what max legal grip is, it tirn out I can get another half inch either side by judicious hand placement. We'll use that then.

Bench, raw, all kilograms

20 x 20
20 x 20
20 x 20
70 x 5
70 x 5
70 x 5
100 x 2
110 x 2
120 x 1
130 x 1

Shirt on, the old on I used in the comp, all paused from here

150 x 2 one to 3 block and one to 2
160 x 2 one to 2 block and one to 1
170 x 2 one to 1 block and one to chest
180 x 1
185 x 1
187 x 1
These last three all feel a touch slower than usual, but Alan and Joe who are both veteran pete-watchers reackon they are snappier than ever.
180 x 2 Handsome Jeff informs us that the arse was up on both, I didn't feel it but the weightlifters are in the best position to see this sort of thing.
170 x 2 these were fine but Alan decided last thing that he wanted another, he didn't get it and the arse really did come up on that one.

All in all very pleasant. I enjoyed this tonight very much, once again I am on an early dart, it is Wednesday after all

On the contrary, I loved everything about it, the packet, the removal, the light-up, the social, sharing aspect to it, the way your hand feels complete when it holds a cigarette, everything about it is uber-cool.

But at the tender age of twenty three it was clearly doing me harm and costing me much, so I bid a fond frewell to a much-loved friend.

Nope, the other one, British comedian and author. He travelled around Ireland carrying a fridge and wrote a book about it. Something like that anyway

Why?

Wisdom was a cult icon in Albania, where he was one of the few Western actors whose films were allowed in the country during the dictatorship of Enver Hoxha. He was known as "Mr Pitkin" after the Gump character from his films. In 1995, he visited the post-Stalinist country, where to his surprise he was greeted by many appreciative fans including the then president of Albania, Sali Berisha. On a visit in 2001, which coincided with the England football team playing Albania in the city of Tirana (of which Norman was granted the freedom in 1995),[15][16] his presence at the training ground eclipsed even that of David Beckham. He appeared on the pitch before the start of the Albania v England match wearing a half Albanian and half English football shirt. He was well received by the crowd, especially when he performed one of his trade mark trips on his way out to the centre circle.[17]

In his book and TV series One Hit Wonderland, Tony Hawks united with Wisdom and, along with Sir Tim Rice, released a single "Big In Albania" in an attempt to enter the Albanian pop charts. It reached number 18 in the Top Albania Radio chart.[18] Wisdom's fondness for Brighton & Hove Albion is renowned in Albania and consequently there are many "Seagulls" fans in Albania.

There will be weeping in the streets in Albania, he was something of a hero there

Monday, 4th October, start 15:00

Early doors as promised and only a couple in so far. I work in with Mr. Kominsky. We went light last week so back on track, I did 260 three weeks ago and then 250 the week after that, 220 was the light one last week so back on track is 270.

Sqaut, old suit, straps down, naked knees, all weights in kilos

70 x 5
70 x 5
70 x 5
70 x 5
100 x 5
straps up
100 x 5
140 x 5
180 x 3
wraps on
220 x 3
240 x 3
255 x 3
270 x 3

I was a touch nervous about the 270 as it is quite a leap from last week, but it all went sweetly enough. As soon as I picked it up I knew it ws all going to be ok. Alan's happy and that means I'm happy, Place has filled up somewhat now. I have to go though, home. some nosebag, and then the home of the tubular bandage where a small celebration is planned. Laters boys and girls

- Jim for being a gentleman, red-lighting me correctly and explaining exactly why, and putting my shirt on nicely too
- Bryn for making it happen

I'll second that. I always enjoy a trip out that way. Many thanks to all concerned
