Thanks for the birthday wishes gents, much appreciated. Officially in my fortieth year, but not yet 40, a young and spritely 39!!!!

I am back from a weekend of debauchery and indulgent sex, role play, bodily intrusions, and inbibing of all things alcoholic, oh and a bit of stuffing of the old face as well. Monday tomorrow, finger will be pulled out and nose back to the grindstone. It's gonna be cold at Adders tomorrow i can feel it in my piss!!
» Has Fat Pete... (Go to post)15-11-2007 @ 16:32
I think what we have to understand is that Pete has rather a large following on MT and it would be a large wrench for him to re-site his log which i think is fair enough.

He is nothing more than an attention hungry slutGrin

Monday 12/11/07

After a weekend of feeling like s**te, today is a new day and i feel a lot better!!!

Appointment with the physio about the dodgy shoulder. Diagnosis remains a slight impingement, but time is a great healer and there has been some improvement as i've been waiting for my appointment for a good while. Physio suggests some back work to correct what he sees as a slight imbalance in the development of my traps, delts(front) and the corresponding muscle on the back. He reckons exercising the imbalance should correct a slight posture issue which will in turn remove the impingement

Early finish and arrive at a very very cold Adlington

Power Snatch from hang
50 x3 x3
70 x3
80 x3
90 x3
95 x3

100 x F F F three fails all up at arms length but out of line, gobs**te!!
100x3 good recovery, better line
90 x5 nice set to finish off with. Not so cold in here any more!!Grin

Squat
70 x5

160 x3
185 x3
205 x3 not easy, maybe not fully fully recovered after all
190 x5 to finish off

T-bar rows, 3x10, 3x8
Lat Pull Downs 3x10

Off home as taking Mrs W to the Trafford Centre shopping. Get in the car, just about to start up and get a text off Mrs W, don't bother rushing home can't be bothered going shopping. Good Girl!!!!

Back in Adders for a bit more...

Db front raise 4x10

Spotted DrRick on yet another PB set, and watched(filmed) FatPete (he's a bloke on another forum apparently)on a big set of squats

As Boar says, I'll train in such a way that if I decide to do the comp I'll be ready at about the right time. Nothing more, nothing less.

You'd better not let Alan get wind of this then. Once he gets a sniff of it, you'll have a whole new plan and targets laid out, you just wont know about it until it has happened!!!Grin
» Who thinks routines are pointless? (Go to post)10-11-2007 @ 17:14
Each to their own is what i say, if it works for you then good stuff.

Personally i'm of a similar way of thinking as Andy, i have a routine in as much as the movements i'll be doing but the weights handled is pretty much played by ear.

The likeness is uncanny, is that you on the left and your mate with the squat suit on the right or the other way round?!?!?!?!?

» Turner says... (Go to post)10-11-2007 @ 10:42
Friday night at Adders...

Big Phil is filling us in on what Ste Turner has got ordered for Christmas

"Tell what you've git ordered Ste, f**king big pack of the stuff, party time in Ste's house porn coming outa his ears, tell 'em Ste. f**king loads of the stuff ordered for Christmas hey!!

Ste, looking furtive, glancing left and right, clearly uncomfortable at the topic for fear that the rozza's have got one of us wired....

"12 stone 6 with me clothes on, yar, that means i'm about 12 stone, yar"

For a pissed up and stoned version of these events, and more, please visit LittleA's training log...

Nowt wrong with skipping, good enough for Rocky Balboa, good enough for me.

Have to comment on what a nice fella Mark Felix seemed, very understated, be good if he comes down for the odd session.

Also have to echo Andy's comment that he'd never heard of Joni or Jonny, but acknowledged Andy as soon as he came in!!

It's a sad fact that a lot of the best lifters seem to die relatively early

Not sure how true this is Rob, I've never really heard of any premature deaths of top Oly Lifters. In fact if you take a look at the numbers of Oly Lifters in the over 60 masters classes in the European / World Masters events it seems to me to be more the opposite, longevity appears common place.

If by 'lifters' you include strongman competitors then in that instance i tend to agree, however, as ove the years there have been numerous deaths. Although i doubt very much this is any way related to the type of aches and pains that have been mentioned in this thread.

My opinion is that in any sport, and ours more than most, there is a certain amount of pain / discomfort you will almost certainly have to put up with to progress as much as you want.
