My mate brought a clipping out of the blackpool reporter in to work this morning because it's got an article about a strongman comp run bt Tim Furner (from Titans Gym) in Blackpool in May, to be held at Stanley Park Arena. Anyone know anything? Is it a novice and an under 90? Is it being run alongside Blackpool Strongest Man Open class? etc

Pete , Ive had my day in the sun last saturday at exertrain, you SHOULD have been there watching !! I do have a salad tossing guy breathing down my neck though, so im gonna try quite hard.

I should have been watching, you're quite right, but like your good self I can only wangle so much time to myself and I'll be training there on Sunday. I SHOULD also be competing against you on Saturday but due to lack of confidence when it was announced, and lack of funds I'm merely going to be there in spirit. Who's the to**er breathing down your neck?

Just wondering about the weight. Are they fully dried? Cos mine has gone from 110kg to less than 60kg. I've had it lying around about 7 months unsealed and when I drilled it to add the 1" tube it was still a bit wet in the middle.

I made myself a log just like that, except with 1" diameter loading pins and 30mm handles. Still got to seal mine and add rope to edges. Are the ones you're selling sealed with varnish or anything?

Me and my missus were in hysterics. 'A dripping wet Fanny (cos it was snowing!)came first' was one of the ones I made up. That first bit was hilarious when they didn't make it over the jump. Did you see the woman do the splits and get stuck. I wee'd a bit!

Chhers, the video is of the 500 pounder. Last weeks 230kg pull was unfortunately a lot slower. Angry

Nice pulling yesterday Pete.

ha ha, the 240 actually moved more a few months back than the 232.5 did last week.
