yeah, if all the weights we use when training are heavier than they should be then we are stronger than we think, which is good. I'm heavier than stated too. I think I'm about 5kg out.

next year we want to have a southern qualifier and a northern qualifier (will be looking for someones help on this one up there in the wildernessGrin ) and will probably get it registered like a federation which will then allow us to do out of comp testing as well to really try and keep it as drug free as possible

Farmers walk (2" handles)

70kg x40m
90kg x2 x15m
the 90kg slipped out of my hand at 15m, so I had about 30 seconds rest then did the second 15m.

Upcoming comp events, for reference so I can find them easily.

UK strongman North-July 4th

• Hand over hand 4x4 fastest time wins 20 meter course
• Crucifix hold 15kg longest time wins
• van dead lift on frame as many lifts in 90secs
• Axel press 100kg as many presses as possible in 90 secs
• Tyre flip 275kg 4flips then lode 3 sand bags 80kg 90kg 100kg fastest time wins
• Farmer walk 110kg 2inch handles carried 20m then pick up blue barrel 70kg carry 15m fastest time wins


Unit 20 Novice-Sept 4th

1 - 90kg log press, floor to overhead each rep. On the wooden logs
2 - 15" deadlift for reps - 227.5kg - straps allowed
3 - Fingals finger for reps - weight unknown
4 - Loading event - same set up as First Timers but this time it will be 100 and 117 stone, followed by 115 keg then another heavier keg (possibly around 140kg)
5 - Farmers hold - 135kg per hand

When I ordered some last year there was a size chart to print out. You generally buy a size or 2 smaller than the chart measures you at depending on how tight a fit you need. There was info on the site but I can't remember which one it was. Anyway, the ones I got are too small, I'm gonna try and stretch them by putting a freezer bag with water in each one and freezing them. (i saw something about it on you tube!)

Cool. Cheers. Is that squat in frame like in WSM where the weight gets added after every rep and it's timed? (as opposed to everyone completing 1 rep on each weight then moving up a weight.) Conans eh? Must be 1 of the only bits of strongman kit you haven't got!

Shoulder is feeling a bit better today. I was a bit worried I might not make 3 doubles at 132.5kg, but they weren't too bad. Not easy either.
