» New bench world record (Go to post)13-09-2019 @ 10:28
He might well have been, but his profile pic on FB is the day of the 500 I think? Wasn't he also in the 190s there? Definitely bigger than now, but let's not make a fuss about it. He has a long way to go as everyone else said judging by the slow speed of the warm up reps with 225kg

Nah he was 196 for the 500. He's around 170 at the moment so has some room. I thought he was keeping weight down for his health and acting roles though?...

Nobody knows if she is telling the truth yet, but do any of you remember the George Leeman incident? Similar thing - posts on social media rather than contacting the authorities. If true, it just doesn't do a lot for credibility...except we live in an age where everyone gets their news from unregulated social media now!

Based on his last video, he has a bright future in diving if he can pull a flip on a deadlift board, let alone a springboard!

Correct, it's a TV show more than a strongman comp

Yes there is. If you're not on enough gear they ban you for risk of wimpiness.

Good on Thor for having the balls to admit it. Should be interesting to see what sponsors and companies associated with him do (if anything).

Tom Stoltman 200kg log. A bit more strength and comp experience in every area and he'll be right up there with Thor, Killa, Licis etc

But when was the last time you saw Hafthor use a DL suit? Was he using one at WSM 2017 when he pulled 460?
» Eddie Hall not competing at BSM 2019 (Go to post)22-11-2018 @ 16:58

For those that care, the Giants Live official page have said this in a PM:

Thanks for your message – I can assure you that it is not for want of trying that Eddie will not get to the start line at BSM in January. As Eddie has been the most outstanding strength athlete in Britain over the last few years we have seen his amazing commitment and effort as an athlete - his achievements speak for themselves!

But Injuries are not something we can control, of course. Eddie is working to fix his injuries and hopefully he is on the road to recovery but he could make things far worse if he tried to push himself to get to contest-strength in time to do BSM.

All athletes have to deal with this at some point and of course we can never guarantee an athlete is truly able to compete at the extremes we ask of them - someone could be badly hurt if they attempted to compete. Eddie is unable to compete currently and we can only wish him the best in his recovery.

He is a truly great champion and the one who is most sad is Eddie- we can only hope he recovers fast and if anyone wonders if he will be there: we couldn’t stop Eddie being there if we tried! He will be lifting a mic as an Expert MC alongside the likes of Kaz and Neil and I’m sure he would be the first to say how massive the line-up looks even without him: With Terry Hollands, Laurence Shahlaei, Mark Felix, Graham Hicks, Adam Bishop and the Stoltmans to name a few who are all world class performers and all currently fit to participate in the show.

Hopefully, it proves to be one of the best BSM editions yet. We do appreciate your feedback and understanding.

Thanks for supporting our events, and we all wish Eddie good luck and hope he decides to compete again. Regards, Neo - Giants Team

Now I've heard he's simply pulled out to go film a movie (Rotten Cotten - zombie clown film on IMDB and he's on the actor list) but the bottom line is he won't be competing.
