Pikefingers said:Thanks for the squat video Steven. I will definitely give it some thought.

Doing mobility exercises and a bit of stretching and stuff has definitely helped me with squatting to a certain extent after I first experienced lower back difficulties, but my suspicion is that the underlying problem is something nasty. I reckon I may have a bulging or prolapsed disc. I occasionally get the feeling of something bulging in the lower back on the right-hand side and the pain which is normally an aching/throbbing sensation stems from there. At the moment I also have fairly severe tightness all the way across the very bottom of the lower back. I thought it was the SI joint at one stage. Maybe it is.

If I find a few hundred spare, I will take myself for a scan/ MRI or whatever the technical term is.

When I was walking up the escalator yesterday, it was getting irritated by me raising my legs.

Doesn't sound good. Unhappy

Deads (aiming for 200 pull in about 5 weeks time).

162.5 X 3
162.5 X 3
162.5 X 3

Did them mixed grip...should have done doh....I'm capable.

Log press

40 X 5
50 X 5
60 X 4 (struggled with the clean).

Barbell squat...70 kg, 2 sets of 10. More upright than what they used to be...must be all this SSB work.

Sled with 160 kg worth of plates added. Pulled it towards me using rope, then pushed it back to the start. 3 sets of this. Tough work! I bet the rope is 4 inch thick.

Thick bar lat pull down.... 3 sets.

2 sets of db bicep curls...need strong biceps for strongman.

2 sets of tricep rope pull downs 7 extensions, whatever you call them. Waste of time in my opinion.

They don't let people like me do cross fit. I dress like a tramp and I am too fat. I definitely don't do group exercise. The idea of doing WOD does nothing for me. The idea and prancing about to music does nothing for me either.

Or if you want thigh booted men to jam ya junk then Vauxhal is the place to go!
Sadly im in to neither and find myself in a social setting grabbing my nuts out from my thighs. I gave up trying to be subtle around the 300kg squat mark. (Similar to waynes 180 frontie mark)

I had a terrible late night encounter in Vauxhall. Quite scary.

how do you find paroxetine in terms of side effects?
I had paroxetine initially then ci-talopram after my marriage breakup (very traumatic breakup not just 'we'd grown apart' etc) both significantly reduced suicidal ideation but came at a cost of flattened emotions full stop and lot of libido issues.
ended up coming off ci-talopram cold turkey after about 9 months or so... which was not a good idea, but got fed up feeling like 'nothing'.
edit: 403 if i spell cit..alopram properly must be a online seller spam protection

Paroextine has change everything around for me. The flashbacks have reduced considerably. I can now choose to not think about something, whereas previously I was ruminating constantly. I now look forward to the future, whereas previously I had to find reasons to keep on living. I am glad to say I am actually close to experiencing some kind of happiness now. No side affects really, in terms of flattened emotions..this isn't a problem. Even if I did experience this, it would be a significant improvement over what I was previously. I was living miserably, and that is no exaggeration.

When people talk seriously about things that are actually very painful, in some cases life devastating, why would you take this opportunity to ridicule them? Be respectful.

Hello,

I hope you don't mind me saying, I do not wish to be arrogant. But as long as the lower back problem is muscular and not something sinister, I believe you can fix it with improved form.

If you follow the squat cues properly, all in the right order, your back should't hurt mate, because your lower back isn't being used in a way that should damage the muscle.

I have the worlds worst shape for squatting, but I've got ok squat form. I have to do a lot of mobility work though.

I recently found a video in which Chirs Duffin teaches the squat...he does it exactly the same way as I was taught. If you are indeed squatting correctly and you know all this already, I apologise. I hope you get it sorted mate....squats are the king of all lifts whether powerlifting or not.

Really great. If you don't mind me saying, you have a nice monolif operator.

Also...I've seen meteoric rise in the occurrence of kettle bells. What is is with all the kettle bells?

This seems to be from crossfit as well. Is this one of the ways they individualise their commodity? Kettle bells have there uses, but essential they are a very old tool that were replaces by dumbbells for a reason.

I saw one crossfit video a man teaching his students how to shoulder press kettle bells. Why they hell are people doing shoulder presses with kettle bells?

So, it seems there are good sides and bad sides.

To me is sounds like they have managed to commercialise a form of exercise by giving it enough individuality that they can legally claim some sort of ownership, and make a lot of money. So crossfire is commodity, but not something you can´t do you yourself if you used your noggin???

It also seems to me that they are introducing olympic lifting to people who otherwise would be doing it. This explains why I keep seeing people doing cleans. I never saw amateurs doing that before in a gym..only people who had been trained properly.

I've done a bit of reading and it seems very geeky. I've seen youtube videos of people cheering each other on as if they were kids at a school sports day. Honestly, all bravado aside, I'd have to tell people to shut up if they started doing that whilst I was lifting. There is a difference of getting egged on whilst doing a PB, and having some lycra clad people shouting 'lets here it for Steve, go Steve! You can do it´whilst I am performing a set of cleans.

I'm pretty sure every one who does crossfire must play Pokemon Go.

Until recently I was out the lifting game for about 5 years.

Now I'm back I keep hearing about crossfit. I saw some lads doing something weird on a pull up bar, looked like they was trying to injur themselves if I'm honest. And they were also doing things with kettle bells that they'd have been better using dumbells for. I've seen them do other lifts, albeit in a strange way and they all do it in groups.

I swear I never came across this back when I was lifting.

What is it? What is it for and what is the point of it? Is it just a new keep fit craze?

Isn't it winstrol that people usually use to keep strength whilst cutting?

Nice 120 bench. I've given up bench due to lack of spotter. You need more frankfurters, they'll short out your back. Eat them all then drink the juice.
