Happy, heaviest 5x5 I've ever done on deadlifts. First 2-3 sets were super easy, last 2 were quite hard but still not to failure. Also need to avoid the gym at peak times, was ridiculously busy today so I couldn't get on the platform, had to pull from the very spongy gym floor which wasn't ideal. Thinking about doing England's strongest junior in June, so trying to really build my deadlift up in the background for that.

Training went really well today. Wanted 165 for a 4x4 which would have been a PB, so to hit 6 reps on the last set was fantastic. Played some loud slipknot and got into rage mode, the weight started flying up! Other stuff went well also, struggled with the left hand on rolling thunder for the last few sets, probably have at least another 10kg in me on the right.

Happy with today, preparation wasn't the best and didn't get at much sleep as I would've liked, but still felt strong. Deadlifts were easy (had 2-3 reps in the tank every set) and got some good back assistance work in afterwards. Best ever set of 5 is 180kg, hope to hit that for a 5x5 soon.

Thanks, yeah I reckon a few sessions with the yoke and that weight should be alright for me. Thinking about going to yorkshire strongman training for some practice with the events
