Well over 30 lifters for this contest, quite a few new faces and quite a large number of female lifters. Really looking forward to this now, please contact me ASAP if you want to lift. As usual we need a few helpers for on the platform, the referees will help you with which weights to load and if there's plenty of you it shouldn't be too onerous.

Most people may be intereseted more in the Jag, but Escort Mexico!! I would literally suck you off for a drive of that haha!! Incredible cars, dream car i'd have to say atm

I got the escort as an unfinished project about 17 yrs ago it was a freshly painted shell and a few other bits, I'd loads of mk2 parts and so I gradually put it all together with the period suspension modifications and then the bigger engine and 5 speed box. It's got a full cage and bucket seats but lots of people want to have them totally standard now for road use. It's fun on twisty back roads but is a bit tiring on motorway drives, it certainly turns a lot of heads when I take it out.

I've got 2 in various states of repair, I've a mk1 escort Mexico 1971 with 2 litre 5speed Bilsteins etc. not tested it few a few years so is being recommisioned this month brakes, carb rebuild etc. my othe car is a 75 Jaguar XJ Coupe 4.2 been doing a bit to this lately, new sill and chassis repair over the next month or two and hopefully up and running again by autumn. I've had both of them quite a while, really enjoyed the escort for a few years but just not had the time to do much with it since but it's definitely going back into service this next month or so.

Entries steadily coming in for this one now, should be a good turnout. Plenty of new faces showing interest too. Checked the stats and the NW has 75 members up to now which is pretty good for lifting in the region.

Just getting into that now with MEP.
Hard to love it when your working for a small firm, CAD skills don't seem to be well valued and often get treated like the office junior.

I did a CAD course a few years ago as it was an area I thought I was weak in but I've never ended up using it much at work, mainly my own projects. Within aerospace Catia is the main design package which is used and we often pay contractors good money at the front end of new projects to do a few months work.
