quick session today. wasnt reeling it going into it as lowerback felt tweaked from friday and hips felt tight. more the session went on better it relt though
squats
bar x 5,5
60kg x 5
100kg x 3
140kg x 2
160kg x 1 belt on
180kg x 1
190kg x 5,5,5 - felt great and moved well. only issue was couldn't decide on head position as to what was working best.

sumo deadlifts EMOM
160kg x 2,2,2,2,2,2,2,2,2

squats moved fantastic. much better than friday were something was off.
sumo felt good. having sub maximal weight. the EMOM set up made me not fuss in my set up which was both good and bad. by the end my glutes were on FIRE

hifilover said:Does anyone think that Z may aim to win WSM and Arnolds this year and then retire on a high?

My gut feeling is this, but could be wrong!

For WSM this year, I'll go with Z, Shaw and Ed in 3rd (although 2nd would be nice if he ups his game a little more), but don't think he's good enough top win it yet, but again, be nice to be proven wrong!

I know it's 'excuses', but if Z hadn't fumbled that stone, could this of been his 5th win?!

Ed looked massively strong, but he shouldn't have strict pressed that 195; it was massively powerful/impressive but it was showboating a bit too IMO... More so when he's up against the best logger of all WSM!

I also don't think Ed will beat Z's log record, unless he massively improves his technique and learns to drive with his legs more!

I also don't think Thor will win WSM

didn't Z have a period where he couldnt use his legs and had to get he momentum from 'sway back' type of press - could Eddie get this movement more to assist?

was really surprised how small this place was - proper gym though and you could feel the expectation which as a trainee can only drive your training on

a rushed session
squats
bar x 5,5
65kg x 5
105kg x 3
145kg x 2
165kg x 1
185kg x 5,5,5,5

sumo deadlifts
60kg x 5
100kg x 3
140kg x 1
180kg x 1 belt on
202.5kg x 2

squats moved well. but dicey squatting with no spotters or supports but comfortable enough I didn't worry.
deadlifts just felt wrong. two reps at 202.5kg both felt like maxes

very time pressed session after work. new technique made getting sbd sleeves on infinitely easier
squats
bar x 5,5
60kg x 5
100kg x 3
140kg x 1
160kg x 1
180kg x 1 belt on
200kg x 5 - easiest this has ever felt

front squats
60kg x 1
80kg x 1 - hamstring felt tight so left it
bench
60kg x 5
80kg x 3
100kg x 1
120kg x 1
140kg x 1 - ffs spotter touched bar but knew I had this

squats were flying. rather than breaking at hips or knees was trying to initiate movement with opening hips and felt infinitely better. felt solid in the trunk - just clicked and think i had a good 8 or so in me but stuck to the program.

well today was interesting. new SBD knee sleeves - after twenty minutes in the changing room struggle, hands aching and blood blisters under my nails I kind of had them on

squats
bar x 5,5
60kg x 5
100kg x 3
140kg x 1
160kg x 1 belt on
182.5kg x 5,5,5,5,5

bench
60kg x 3
80kg x 2
100kg x 1
115kg x 5

sumo deadlifts
100kg x 3
140kg x 2
180kg x 1
197.5kg x 5

once on knee sleeves made massive difference to my squat - no where near wraps but definite carryover. all sets were full on deep and increased weight was far easier than last weeks lighters sets.
bench only did one set as elbows felt achey from low bar.
sumos - dont think I did enough prep sets as lifts were not smooth. didn't help this was the first time back using bars which are smooth on the area I like to grip. this was definite five rep limit

sweet sweet session where everything clicked
squats
bar x 5,5
60kg x 5
100kg x 3
140kg x 2
170kg x 1 belt on
197.5kg x 5 - could have kept on going

overhead press
60kg x 3
75kg x 2 belt on
87.5kg x3

clean complex (hip, high, full)
bar x 3
40kg x 1+1+1
50kg x 1+1+1
70kg x 1+1+1
90kg x 1+1+1
100kg x 1+1+1 power cleaned last rep but rode it down. best I've moved in a long time

squats

today
squats
bar x 5, 5
60kg x 5
100kg x 3
140kg x 2
170kg x 1 belt on
195kg x 5

bench
60kg x 5
80kg x 3
100kg x 2
120kg x 1
130kg x 3

cleans from box
30kg x 2
40kg x 2
50kg x 2
70kg x 2
80kg x 2
90kg x 1,1 power cleaned both annoyingly

squats felt strong. need fractionally more depth or better knee travel outwards not forwards.
bench was easy despite not keeping tight and allowing elbows to flare.
cleans are same old problem
» Loompaland powerlifting and quick lifts (Go to post)30-11-2015 @ 10:39
this morning
squats
bar x 5,5
65kg x 5
105kg x 3
145kg x 2
165kg x 1 belt on
177.5kg x 5,5,5,5,5

bench
bar x 5
60kg x 5
80kg x 2
100kg x 1
112.5kg x 5,5,5,5,5

sumo deadlifts hook grip
60kg x 5
100kg x 3
140kg x 3
160kg x 1 belt on
187.5kg x 5
220kg x f,f

squats aresame issue - knees going forwards meaning to hit depth have to go even further thanI want/need. fourth rep of fourth set was dicey - squatting with no catchers and lost balance - started to go down but caught myself and ground the rep out.
bench got a spot for last set and Tony the gym owner tore my technique to pieces. way too much elbow flare on the ascent
sumo is coming along but max weights are still hit and miss
» Loompaland powerlifting and quick lifts (Go to post)28-11-2015 @ 15:55
today
squats
bar x 5,5
60kg x5
105kg x 3
145kg x 1
165kg x 1 belt on
192.5kg x 5

clean complex (hip,hang,full)
bar x 3+3+3
40kg x 1+1+1
50kg x 1+1+1
70kg x 1+1+1
80kg x 1+1+1
87.5kg x 1+1+1 +2 push presses
100kg x 1+f, 1+1+1

was tentative in squats as hips felt buggered upon waking and done with no safeties - high as knees still going forwards rather than out
cleans were snappy up until 100kg point. threw in two push presses tp save time as rushing

hahaha - would have to say possibly intentional - can't stand full power as hate Benching - find it difficult to accept something as exercise that you have to lay down to do
» Loompaland powerlifting and quick lifts (Go to post)23-11-2015 @ 17:35
today
squats
bar x 5,5
60kg x 5
110kg x 3
150kg x 1
175kg x 5,5,5,5,5 - belt on

overhead press
60kg x 1
72.5kg x 1,5,5,5

sumo deadlift hook grip
60kg x 5
100kg x 3
140kg x 2
160kg x 1 belt on
182.5kg x 5
220kg x f,f

squats are feeling super easy - deep and solid. nice slow easy progression, no need to rush
deads were solid but tried to pull a single with hook grip and no power at all - didn't help my knuckle on my right hand as been swolen for a few days now. no clue what I have done
» bdfpa (Go to post)23-11-2015 @ 10:35
