early morning session before work.
kettlebell swings - get ups
12kg x 10 + 1 each side

squats high bar
bar x 5
60kg x 5
100kg x 1
130kg x 10,10,10

cleans from blocks
60kg x 3
70kg x 2
80kg x 2
90kg x 5,5

jerk rack lockouts
60kg x 1
80kg x 1
100kg x 5

single arm kettlebell swings alternating each set 10 mins
24kg x 5,5,5,5,5,5,5,5,5,5,5,5,5,5,5,5,5,5,5,5 - 100 swings in 10 minutes
slowly build 24kg up to 200 swings in ten minutes then do the same with 32kgs - hamstrings felt it

plan on doing 2 x5 on mondays and 1 x 3 on fridays for block cleans - positionings are so much better!!!

squats were still relatively easy

in some lifts Z is clearly more powerful/stronger. but anyone who can put a 300lb dumbell overhead several times is not weak - in essence you point to shaws strength as a weakness. Could easily say Z has a weakness in his technique is weak/wrong - the person who has the best combination wins.

this point is clear in Z winning the ASC - he was one of the weakest Deadlifters but his strength and technique across the board allowed him to win.

Dumbell isn't a test of shoulder strength. Something is wrong when a dude that can't strict press 400lbs does 300lbs one handed. Just look how Z did the dumbell... Pure power. Z deserved the win overall. Everyone knows I am a Hall fan and support British Strongmen all the way but Z once again proved he is the best here.


never thought strongman was a test of pure static strength - isnt that powerlifting? best strongman would be combination of all strength related biomotor abilities no?

first session back in around a week and a half.

get ups kicked my arse - shows how one dimensional i have become!
high bar squats for higher reps were yuck

jerk lockouts were fun. bar at catching height in rack. split to get under it then stand - want to get up to 140kg on these by the end of the next six weeks.
not exactly what I planned and will hit more hypertrophy type stuff on wednesday. aim is to do squats with same weight and volume each session 3 x week and nudge up 10kg each week. hope to hit 180kg x 10 by end of six/seven weeks.

whilst his the record holder I dont know if he has more in him thanwhat he pulled on that set up. a few extra kilos might have made him miss his lift

sirely 466 would have? whats the rules at arnolds for weight on the bar and changing lifts as the comp runs?

isn't this just an injury and nothing to do with his deadlift. he just happens to be fortunate that the tricep injury still allows him to deadlift heavy.

he injured his tricep a while ago and with a comp which has two heavy pressing events his going to end up pulling out

bench was comfortable. first set of cleans I power cleaned it but second and third sets moved reasonably well.
