Encourage your wife/partner to breastfeed and tell her to do it for as long as possible. It makes night time feeding not your problem. I've got two kids and I highly recommend it.

This - not only is it promoted as the best thing for kids it does make feeds quicker. No need for exensive machines for right temperature as you have it instantly on tap

To me is sounds like they have managed to commercialise a form of exercise by giving it enough individuality that they can legally claim some sort of ownership, and make a lot of money. So crossfire is commodity, but not something you can´t do you yourself if you used your noggin???

It also seems to me that they are introducing olympic lifting to people who otherwise would be doing it. This explains why I keep seeing people doing cleans. I never saw amateurs doing that before in a gym..only people who had been trained properly.

I've done a bit of reading and it seems very geeky. I've seen youtube videos of people cheering each other on as if they were kids at a school sports day. Honestly, all bravado aside, I'd have to tell people to shut up if they started doing that whilst I was lifting. There is a difference of getting egged on whilst doing a PB, and having some lycra clad people shouting 'lets here it for Steve, go Steve! You can do it´whilst I am performing a set of cleans.

I'm pretty sure every one who does crossfire must play Pokemon Go.

Short shorts and a squirtle - interesting

So just normal crosstraining that people have done for years long before Crossfit came and gave it a name?

Lol pretty much yeah. Just think a lot pf people get butt hurt over the fact someone has managed to create millions off decent branding. Only thing I will say is the focus on gymnastics and olympic lifting has done both those sports a massive service

Isnt this true with most things though?

You probably wont get olympia size and conditioning following a Flex magazine program, you wont hit world championship strength following stronglift programming.

I dont think many crossfit gyms follow HQ programming but can see it working for newbies to give a flavour.

Surely "crossfit" isnt a program in any sense just a choice to train multiple qualities to increase all round fitness.

In regards to the kipping issue - I see this as a skill to enable performance in competition. Bit like a fosbury flop - people wouldn't use the fosbury flop as a training tool to increase jumping power but the skill nredsto be trained for the competitive performance

Personally I like it. Trained in a few crossfit gyms and typically they are well equipped. Most idiot stuff you seen done is due to s**t coaches but this is no different to any commercial gym.

Luckily the crossfit gyms I have been to have had great, well qualified coaches (UKSCA, greenwood weightlifting etc). The downside is hipster type guys, the upside is most crossfit gyms tend to have fairly hot women training in very short shorts

Congrats.

All joking aside I dont know why more men push their partners for home births.

Sorts a lot if issues out. Bacon sarnie whenever you want, all the home comforts and you just need something like a shower curtain or plastic sheet to deal with the mess

does the current set up just require some foam/matting etc on top of the platforms so it's not so much of a jolt and less bouncing off them?

more like the soft plot box set up?
