There was a max out day organised at my gym for when I came home from uni. Managed a few PBS Squat in wraps 240kg Bench 150kg Went for a deadlift pb of 241kg but it wasn't there. so apparently my deadlift and squat are the same now.. | |||

Got a deadlift max of 235kg and a squat max of 220kg. Now I just need to bench 145kg for that 600kg total | |||

And then today I did high bar back squats properly for the first time. Before now i'd only done them 3 times with pause reps. I'm changing my programme before my comp, switching low bar for high bar. Yesterday I started my new shoulder programme. I've neglected push press and jerks a lot recently, and i'm not happy about it. So my new programme has me doing sets of triples, through strict, to push, to jerks. When I can no longer strict I'll start push pressing them, and same goes on for jerks. Strict 20 x? warm up 40 x3 50 x3 60 x3 65 x3 70 x3 Don't know why my strict was playing up usually I can do 80kg. Push 75 x3 80 x3 85 x3 90 x3 95 x3 100 x3 105 x2 Jerks 110 x 2 My max jerk is 130kg but with everything that came before it 110kg was the most I could do. Then also then lent my his slingshot which I'm going to incorporate with heavy volume. 100 x4 120 x4 140 x2 150 x1 140 x4 110 x13 100 x3 80 x9 | |||

Log 70kg x 1 80kg x 1 80kg x 1 100kg x 0 Atlas stone (never done them before, really enjoyed them) 110kg x 2 Got to use a f**king Texas deadlift bar so I thought I might as well take to opportunity and see if I can get a max out of it. I didn't. Deadlifts 60kg x8 100kg x3 140kg x3 180kg x3 210kg x1 205kg x1 Was suppose to do 210 but I forgot to add the extra 5kg to one side. Yesterday's squats went well. Warmed up on 60kg and 100kg for a few reps. Working sets were 4x6 140kg, low bar. Then high bar deadlift stance pause squats 80kg x3 w/ 3 second pause 100kg x3 w/ 3 second pause 120kg x3 w/ 5 second pause, 4 second pause, 3 second pause. Then went to practise some log, 50kg x10 strict. 70kg x10 FTOH. Started doing sets of 10 to get ready for the volume for this comp. took like 2 minutes because it's f**king exhausting. Then did a really smooth 80kg one motion. Tried 85kg one motion but my strict strength isn't quite there. | |||

I've got a feeling towards the end I'll have to swap the 2x6 around and make it 6 sets of 2. Other than that I should be able to complete it I reckon! Went to the gym today after driving around manchester centre for 2 hours looking for a club to pick up a friends purse.. Was suppose to be squatting and was looking forward to it but I ended up training log in the sunshine with Mark, James and Whitham. Got 70kg x 5 strict presses. Tried the reps in a minute with 80kg and this time only managed 5 and failed one. Which is one worse than my last attempt. I want to get 10 reps in the comp so I'm going to have to sort my training out to get there. Going to start doing sets of 10 with 80kg. Once it's comfortable I want to get faster and faster. Also really want my strict to get up to 100kg but it's being very slow and annoying so far! | |||

This will be the start of my training blog. Currently on the run up to a Novice Strongman comp in Luton, in July. I also want to have competed in powerlifting before the demise of the year with a 670kg total. Next year I want to compete in u90 natural strongman, as well as various other comps. I'm about to go bench now. adios |
