» Eddie at it again 60-420kg deadlift (Go to post)15-05-2015 @ 19:06
I hope he is invited, the stronger the line up the better.
No matter who anyone wants to win, I think we all want to see the best dead lifters get pushed all the way.
Although it's a strong possibility, a 463kg from Eddie with an unknown amount left in the tank isn't what I want to see.

I agree that the best bit about body power is the events there. I went last year and had no intention of buying anything, it wasn't any cheaper than I could find it online.
It seems like two people could go and have completely different experiences. I didn't get anything in the way of freebies, a lad from my gym got enough to last him about 3 months.
I was underwhelmed by it all, I do agree that some of the crowds did seem to be young lads who were mostly concerned about looking hard and puffing out their chests.

Cable row.
Warm up
Stack x 10. 5 sets.

Barbell row.
60 x 8
70 x 8
80 x 8
90 x 8

Feeling a lot better and stronger than a week or so ago.

Underhand t bar row.
5 x 8.
Didn't count the weight but increased every set. Felt good.

Bicep curls.
3 x 8.

Done. Still didn't feel great today, I basically did the assistance work I should've done yesterday.

Whose that other chap with the huge pull? I'm sure he's russian, pulled 457.5 within the last year or so I think.

That's unbelievable.

I'm a big fan of frequent squatting. I hope it goes well for you, it's something I might give a go myself in a few months.
Good luck.

Squat
Warmed up
180 x 2. 6 sets.

Felt awful, went home.

Done. Try again tomorrow.

Titan RPMs might be worth a shot, they're desgined to get as many wraps as possible for bigger legged lifters. I got a pair of metal silvers but I have the same problem as you not being able to wrap enough, I get more out of the RPMs.

Bench
Warm up
80 x 10
100 x 10
120 x 8
130 x 5
140 x 5
Felt ok.

110 x 10. 3 sets.
Felt like I fatigued really quickly, I often find after a few weeks off the endurance takes longer to come back.

Incline bench
60 x 8
70 x 8
80 x 8. Shoulder pain. Stopped here

EZ bar close grip bench
60 x 8
80 x 8
90 x 8
100 x 8. 2 sets.

Again felt very fatigued at a weight that should be ok.

Strict press.
Haven't done this in a long time.
60 x 5. Bench grip, felt horrible.
60 x 5. Closer grip, felt better.
70 x 5

This felt very difficult, my shoulders didn't like the Change of direction, currently have shooting pain down my arms. I'll work on this.

Tricep push downs.
3 x 10.

Done. I'll work on endurance, I'm looking to bench in comp come October so plenty of time to do some volume work first.

I'm guessing bet 365 are offering good odds on Real Madrid to win. So if they do you'll get more than the hundred you put on in total back. The odds on juventus or draw I saw at 5/4, so 50 quid on that would get you over your 100 quid back as well.
It'll only work if madrid are longer odds than evens, which they aren't on will hill. I'd imagine any good odds are for new customers only and are usually limited to a max bet of 20 quid.

kirkynick said:That's crazy reppage.

I remember seeing a vid from a few years ago of Ed doing 50+ reps with 100kgs.

I train in a gym run by Laine Snook, he's got a Guinness world record certificate for bench pressing Ian Wright 72 times in a minute. The setup weighed 106kg in total I think.

On a sepetate note, talking high reps Chuck Ahrens claimed 400lbs for 28, without really training bench specifically. Although I think this claim is somewhat unfounded to say the least.

Squat.
Warmed up
140 x 4
180 x 2
185 x 2
190 x 2
195 x 2
200 x 2

All felt good, I think if I fail a squat now it'll be on not being strong enough not technique which I'm pleased with, nothing more frustrating than feeling like you should've got it.

Paused squat.
160 x 2 long pause
160 x 2 long pause
180 x 2 about a second

Leg press
180 x 8
220 x 8
260 x 8
310 x 8. 3 sets.

Put my heels high and made it very hamstring dominant, I'm seeing some slight improvement in hamstring strength I think.

Prone hyper extensions
+ 10kg. 3 x 10.

Done. All felt good.

That might be the quickest 420 ive ever seen. Reminds me of benni pulling 410 leading up to DL champs last year in terms of just how easy it looked.

Deadlift
Warmed up
120 x 3
160 x 3
200 x 3
230 x 1

Felt awful, like I was in completely the wrong position. So decided to drop the weight.

200 x 3. 5 sets.

Felt better the more I did, like I'd found the grove again.

Barbell row.
70 x 8
80 x 5
90 x 5
100 x 5. 2 sets

Reverse grip pulldown
Stack x 5. 5 sets.

Prone hyper extensions
3 x 10.
Feeling easier the more I do them.

21s. 1 set.

Done. Started badly as a session and got a bit better. 4 weeks out.

I don't know much about Leeman and can't find a huge amount either. Is he good across the board or does he specialise in deadlift?
