little_a said: Ah lol I think "This is neither strongman or powerlifting, but is still going to be a great day" may have made it clearer to me, but the great day bit is paramount. Wonder what the heavy events are? Moorland Games Events Hammer Toss – Thrown for distance. Heavy 8kg Heavier 10kg Quarry Carry – Carried for max distance. Heavy 100kg Heavier 120kg Stevenson’s Rocket – Our version of a caber toss, thrown for distance. Heavy a big tree Heavier a bigger tree Stone Throw – Thrown for distance. Heavy 10kg Heavier 12kg Folkstyle Rope Wrestling – Head to head. Imagine a rope dog toy… | |||

This is neither strongman or powerlifting, but is going to be a great day Scotland has been having all the fun for far too long, holding highland games after highland games. That stops here. Now is the time of the Moorland Games. Done the Yorkshire way with our very own tests of strength and courage, more beer and tea than you can shake a stick at and much much more! On the 9th of August we will be holding the first ever Moorland Games, at Raven Hall (Ravenscar). This will be much more than just a test of athleticism and strength, this is a showcase. Consisting of; The heavy events. A range of stalls purveying the best goods yorkshire has to offer. Kids games. Hot meaty food and cold beers. An ab shattering eating challenge. Live music. And much much more. |
