EDCLARKE said:great looking comp,Dave you've improved no end since Dragons although I'm sure you were bald back then and now you have a full head of hair,is it a weave?Happy

PMSL Grin Thanks Ed, it's not a weave, I used to have long long hair and I want to experience the wind ruffling it again before it all falls out due to male pattern old-gitness Grin

This is not a gay kiss-ass post by any means, but....

I did my first strongman comp in 2009 - the first Dragons comp. The standard then of both the organisation and the competitors was immense - and it has just grown and grown. All the guys who put on comps, give up their weekends to organise, set up, load, score and everything else which goes hand in hand are legendary. The standard of UK strongman has gone thru the roof over the last few years and the bar just keeps being raised, and this site is the hub of it all. I love this sport and came to it late, but its only thanks to all you guys that I am able to pick and choose competitions from an ever growing number each season. What all you guys are doing for the sport of UK strongman is second to none, and I for one am proud to compete etc. Thanks for providing amazing facilities and opportunity to train and compete on a regular basis, as well as all the advice and training tips that everyone is more than happy to share. Lifting weird and heavy s**t makes me happier than a dog with two dicks, but without finding Sugden Barbell in the first place and going to watch Sugdens Strongest Man in 2009 I would probably be still a pot smoking abulls**tter with f**k all else better to do and a 60kg max bench...(instead of an occasional pot smoking bulls**tter with stuff to lift and loads of food to be eaten Grin ) From the flourishing u90s scene right up to the big beasts, this is beyond doubt the best season I have been involved in yet - so many comps (heavier each year) and lots of new athletes getting involved all the time just shows the potential to really kick the sport off over here like it is in the states or Eastern Europe, and all you guys who do organising are fully on the ball! I f**kin love it!!! UK strongman scene is evolving at a massive rate, and long may it continue! Grin

Also I just had a thought, can we have those topless scorecard girls and cheerleaders and the other ideas mentioned in another thread recently in one of these comps please? Grin Wink It may not help the top guys when battling it out for trophies but people like me need something to look at whilst avoiding last place you know!

Just kidding, although it would be the icing on the cake eh Grin (can you tell my exams are over and I'm bored?? lol
