Tonight's is the best group so far. Again another group that would have been more exciting with normal rules on the stones.

Massive shame for Hicks blowing up on the log he could've topped the group. His first 6 reps looked so easy.

The face off on the stones is an awful change anyway. Look at heat 1. It would've been way more exciting under normal rules with everyone having a chance.

It was a very strong group. Kearney was clearly off but everyone else in that group would have looked at home in the final. Baring the events in mind I'm not sure Loz would've done better than Belsak in the final.

Anyone watching Heat 1 tonight?

I'm sure Andy Bolton pulled at least 440kg post 40. I don't know what Felix's PB is but whatever it is I'm sure he would have done it in his 40s.

Kieliszkowski is good no doubt but the only event I think he would take points off Thor here is the car walk

Duck walk and maybe even Stones as well.

My absolute favourite event to watch. It's done anything like enough these days. I'd love to see it in the final.

Probably because Ed isn't competing. Not as many fanboys or haters.

And time difference. This year almost all the action was done by the time most of us woke up each day. Last year the news dripped in slowly so we had more to talk about.

Magnus Samuelson is probably the best of the bunch. He's had a couple of big TV shows in Sweden.

I would imagine his bells palsy and the fact he can't actually act may put the blocks on that one.

Ps- I think they should ditch truck pull for a different event going forward, anyone agree?

I certainly don't see why it should be in the final every year.

Only one man lifted the 5th stone? Jesus, how heavy was it?

Last year in the truck pull he came 5th I think and 4th this year.
I don't know if his hamstring has caused a lot more of an issue than he makes out or if he just peaked in 2015 and is very slowly declining now?
I believe it was in 2015 when he hurt his hamstring for the first time.
Congrats to Thor class act I just can't stand that little Aussie year jumping all over him every time he wins an event.
Reminds me of the little s**t that used to tag onto the hardest lad at school

I don't think Shaw is getting worse. I think others are just getting better.

Its amazing that the guys can get higher numbers out of a log than a barbell.

It's a long shot but if those points are correct then Kila still has an outside chance of a win. He won the pull last year, has to be favourite for the loading and one the stone lifting event at the Arnolds.

An event like loading is where Thor could lose points if he makes a mistake. It's an outside chance but a chance none the less.

Yes, I'll write a bit more later but do not write Z off. He is looking very strong. I watched his truck pull and log and he looked stronger than anybody. Way stronger than Thor on the log, and Thor's overhead is very good now.

I think Z will drop too many points on loading and frame to be a factor to win. He may just sneak on to the podium.
