Great improvement by Ed on the yoke. Last in his group in 2013 to 4th best in the final two years later.

LegendHowes said:So many ppl doubting ed hall. He will win the wsm in the next couple of years he is improving at a very fast rate Far slower than Thor though who has yet to win. Far slower than Shaw who has finished 3rd in his second year etc. I love Ed but every winner of WSM in the last twenty years hit the podium by their third year apart from Phil Pfister. So although his development as been fast it has not been fast enough to indicate a WSM is the making. To compare to other Brits both Hollands and Felix got higher results in there first 3 years at WSM than Ed.

dannyboy73 said:Indeed. x2 and Felix is capable of a top 4 maybe 3. I would love that but be very surprised. Will drop a ton of points on Log lift and Power stairs. Can't see him beating Shaw, Thor, Z or Burke in Super yoke, truck pull or stones. I think the best he can hope for is 5th. I think 7th/8th is more likely.

Pritchett must of made 8 points up on one event.... Made the final with one top two event placing and only one third place. Has no business being in the final.

Miky111 said: i think Belsak has 17.5 points he was equal with Caruso on the barbell which would give them both 2.5 points, not 1.5 like in the spreadsheet i could be wrong, but Ed got 6 points on that event, Szymanski 5, Burke 4 and that should put these two at 2.5 each Yeah you are right actually. Although that extra point doesn't really change things.

Nimble said: Yeah Radz possibly not making it through is something of an upset. Even fewer big pressers in the final! Thor's loving this! I still think he will lose points on deadlift. Looks like Looks like Caron, Shaw, Savatinov, Savickas, Felix and Hall will all make the final and all could very well beat Thor on deadlift reps. That puts him down in 7th on an event Shaw could very well win. Unless Shaw makes a mistake I just don't see where he is going to make those points up.

Belsak and Symanski giving Burke some problems. Nice to see Thigpen continue and bounce back with a win in the squat.

It has been done in really hot climates for years and we have not experienced problems like this.

Benfrancis1993 said:Have any of you ever thought the powers that be couldn't care less about athlete safety in the events? Aslong as no ones heart pops they couldn't give a f**k. If all thirty of the guys died now they'd just pay Colin to get the next 30 there next year just to get some footage for Christmas. The hammers look better than fingals so Loz and thigpens injuries are a necessary evil to ensure that it draws interest with viewers. Same for the other guys. If they couldn't care less then why do they have spotters? As I said in my previous post I don't believe the injuries we have seen are mainly down to a neglect in athlete safety. |
