202.5kg now. This sort of weight usually drops a few guys.

Higher risk of injury to the athletes which obviously the wsm guys think is better tv plus they pay for less days. Win win for them.

I don't think it's being done for TV. I think they are actually encouraging people to come and watch it live. A more condensed contest will actually work well for a lot of the athletes as they won't have to try and get weeks off work at short notice.

I really hope they haven't done away with the heats. They are the most exciting bit.

Also if they have what are they going to do about all the athletes who have already qualified through giants live.

Qualified athletes are -

M. Kieliszkowski
M. Licis,
A. Bishop,
L. Shahlaei,
T. Mitchell III
K. Faires,
J-F Caron,
M. Forsmark,
G. Hicks,
T. Stoltman,
L. Stoltman,

Yes he's been recovering from surgery. I expect to see him at WSM whenever that is.

No way those numbers are accurate. 15% dexa looks very lean. Thor is carrying quite a bit of fat at the moment. Mid twenties at the lowest

15% of fat on someone as muscle heavy as Thor is a lot of weight in fat. He would look much fatter than an 70kg runner with 15% body fat.

But consistency trough events is the key and a certain event that sets you above the rest.

Not entirely true. At both their peaks Shaw was a more consistent strongman than Z but Z was still capable of beating him.

Thor might blow out quick
He did gain 'this extreme' strength relative quick.
Shaw and Z especially got bigger/stronger during longer period time.
Thor won't be at top for too much longer and brian is advancing in age.
Licics will win worlds strongest man within two years

I think Killa will be WSM before Licis.

Shaw's hamstring issues seem to be getting chronic. If I was him i'd be considering calling it a day. He's 37 now and has had great longevity in the sport, something he doesn't get enough credit for. 5th most appearances at WSM of all time and the only man with 10 consecutive finals. He's really got nothing left to prove. For my money he is the best strongman there has been in the WSM era but every top sportsman have to bow out at some point.

slimsim said:Is it his upper thigh which broke? I couldn’t make it out on the vid but that seemed to be where the stone landed. 160kg is gonna break whatever it lands on though. Unhappy

No, It's the Tibia and Fibula. Looks like it landed on his knee and basically forced the lower leg to snap. The femur will be really strong that close to the joint so you'd expect the weaker bones in the lower leg to give instead.
