youve proven you cant be trusted for 5 minutes with a sweat suit without ruining it so starting to make weight early is probably a good idea!

just a really quick session tonight, the gym was pretty busy which isnt ideal for oly lifts as the "platform" was being used for deadlifts as well.

i usually deadlift in my weightlifting shoes, the problem is that do-win shoes have quite a high heel on them which i find great for olympic lifts and great for squatting but ive been told it can be a problem for deads. ive been stuck at 190k on the deadlift for ages so i thought i would have a go at deads in just my socks and if i find it easier i will buy some deadlift slippers.

DEADLIFTS

belt tightened, chalk, alternating hook grip

180k x 1
190k x 1
195k x 1 PB !!!!
i was very chuffed with this, especially as im still a bit achy from squatting on saturday, hopefully 200k will be on the cards in a couple of weeks. this was done with my crappy cheap belt and jogging bottoms, too cold for shorts and baby powder now!

normally i do push presses but for a change i felt like strict presses, plus my back was nailed from the deadlifts so cleaning 50k was more appealling than cleaning 75k Happy

STRICT PRESSES

my back is nice and sore now but im really chuffed that ive finally got over my sticking point, the feeling i got as the bar came over my knees and i realised i was going to lock it out was amazing! the other guys in the gym (all doing curls) were less than impressed but who cares, I GOT A PB!!

bicep curls in the squat rack?? so they could curl the weight but not lift it from the floor??? thats all kinds of wrong
