today was the gbpf development at marcs gym in horncastle, i wanted to try for a deadlift pb so just joined the lads doing bench then deadlift rather than the three lifts. BENCH bar x 10 40 x 5 65 x 4 70 x 3 75 x 2 paused 80 x 1 paused 85 failed. my set up was spot on but i didnt lower the bar under control, so when i came to press my position was way off ![]() DEADLIFT 60 x 5 100 x 4 120 x 3 145 x 3 170 x 2 185 x 1 200 failed. set up was all wrong, way too close to the bar, ![]() had a great day at marcs gym and learned tons of stuff, had a great laugh, will definatly be back! on a plus side i got some much appreciated olympic weightlifting pointers from one of the chaps that had come down which was great! | |||

just the one session this week as i want to be fresh for the gbpf development day on saturday where i hope to get a 200k deadlift in my posh new deadlift slippers. SQUATS bar x 10 60k x 5 90k x 5 120k x 1 130k 5 sets of 3 the squats felt good, they felt heavy but i knew i was going to get all of my reps, im feeling more comfortable with the low bar position after using the high bar position originally, i just need to get used to developing a bit of bounce out of the bottom position. enjoyed these. BENCH bar x 12 40k x 5 50k x 5 60k x 5 70k x 5 80k x 3 60k x 12 back off set for some extra volume, wanted about 8 reps, should have done it with 70k BARBELL ROW 90k x 5 80k x 2 sets of 5 was cheating a lot with 90k, decided to drop to 80k and use better form (though still with a little bit of momentum) all in all a really good session, i feel really good after it although i did see 2 guys, both wearing 1. baseball caps 2. jeans 3. "workout gloves" doing their "bicep day" this made me feel a little ill although my squats made me feel better. | |||
