i got last years version of these i love them, they have a nice wide fitting, the addidas ones are quite narrow apparently.
my mate luke (luuuuuuukey) has these he likes them, bit higher heel than addidas. good for the money.

the heel helps with squats, cleans and snatches and the general solidity and stability helps with everything else.

Front squats

20x10
60x5
90x3
110x1 Belt on
120x3,3 Hmm wanted 5x5 on this weight. Just feeling tough today
110x3,3,2 DOH! just feeling really slow today and having a right fight to keep upright

Overhead Press

Push Press (One powerclean per set)

60x5
80x3
90x3
100x1,f LOL, really sucked at these! really sloppy dip and very weak at lockout! need to work on this big time. Next time ill have to get some reps in on 90 and get my form dialed

Strict

90x1 Solid enough
80x4 Lockout a problem, shoots to forehead then slows right down

CGBP Paused

60x5
100x5,5,5,5

Deadlift

60x5
100x5
140x3 Belt on
180x15 Straps on here. OUCH! Hammies killed after these and felt really sick. Last rep i took off my belt and straps and just did it, SUPER slow lockout real fight

Chins

Wide x6,5
Narrow x6,6

Just smoked by this stage and trying not to throw up.

180 x 15??? thats sickening! well done mate, thats bloody impressive stuff!

i might try some of those powercleans from the hang on my next sesh. they are fun

yeah i really like them, the way ive found best its to just jump with the bar and concentrate on stomping my feet as the bar racks on my shoulders, everything else sort of falls into place........plus stomping in loud weightlifting shoes is fun Happy

some olympic variants today

POWER SNATCH
bar x 10
40k x 3,3,3
45k x 3,3,3

HANG POWER CLEAN (HIGH HANG)
40k x 5
50k x 5
60k x 5
70k x 1
75k x 1 (pb)
80k x 1 (pb)

i like the power clean from the high hang, as you don't have much "run up" they really help build explosiveness......if thats a word.

40_plus said:I'm happy with training at the moment mate although my weight is higher than I'd like.
I'm doing singles on squats tonight and trying for 5 x 1 with 170 which is my comp PB.
The hamstrings have healed almost fully and I'm able to deadlift with some decent weight again, next singles session is 5 x 1 at 205 which is only 5 kg off my comp PB.

thats great, very impressive! hopefully i will catch you up one day!

bit of an unscheduled training session, id gone to lock up the gym for the night, one of the members had just started an being an all round nice guy didnt have the heart to chuck him out, so i thought id muck about while i waited!

SQUATS
bar x 5
60k x 5
100k x 5
130k x 2,2,2

just going thru the motions really, practicing technique

STRICT PRESS
bar x 5
40k x 5
60k x 4,2,2

ive decided on a mini goal of 60k for 3 sets of 5 on the strict press, was quite chuffed with this, should have in in a few weeks Happy
