I might have to join you for a deadlift session, the gym I'm at got no Texas bar using those old Jordan ones.

im undecided i might even consider comping with you Paul. Hopefully get 1st and 2nd by Wilkes judging by the result of your last comp you had the Wilkes title aswell. I would say it is impressive but i trained along time with you and i know your capable on your day in the next 12 months to get 260,200,300. But like a few guys including myself have said get your volume in now then take regular deload or just back off and those numbers will be very achievable in the same meet.

Train smartly is better than harder you ain't going to win every battle

I think what Ape and Pete have said to be true particularly for your ages. I think one of the problems with powerlifting is everybody looks too immediate. Taking regular deloads will not only pay dividends in long term but the short term aswell. I personally would be too concerned with the number in training last four weeks to a meet just getting heavy number for a one or two sets is sufficient. For me after my last comp the recovery worked amazing. BTW looks like i could be ipf with ynepf in November at Eggborough 120kg class if you fancy an end of year comp.

what i find interesting is Jesse Norris,CYC and Matt Sohmer are all drug tested yet there records surpass the guys of test and tren. Breaking all time world records beating Malanichev, Lilliebridge and Efferding all three of those guys have beaten them. Then just ask yourself if they really are whiter than white.

It was a gym comp at iron athlete in Sheffield a beginner comp but I'd say 70 percent of a normal comp.

I didn't consider it an off day I don't train bench after squats and I wanted to build a total. Easy to do 200 in gym with no refs. No planned comps yet but I'm just aiming to have a good offseason and compete next year. If I was to compete it will be in September if there's a contest or so maybe October.

25/4/15 comp day
Weighed in at 122 fully clothed after eating and drinking and full in of stuff in my pockets.
Went spent abit of the morning in car with partner all warms ups were within good time so I planned them nicely.
Squat
300 pass felt good they used Texas power bar for all three and with that weight the tpb is s**t only major complaint was the grip was too narrow compared to in gym.
310 pass shaky going down but easy enough not convinced I'd would have had 320 but thought I'd go for it
320 fail unracked lowered down but just didn't feel right so I said take it.
Bench opened up at 170 due to squats and tendinitis in elbow which can happen. Put ibuprofen gel on and wore a sleeve
170 pass fast
185 pass still more in there
192.5 pass not much more there but could have got 195 but not 200. With the tpb I had to be careful going down previous history with the bar and benching.
Deads
Warmed up and was done after 2nd of 3 flights on there second round spent more time a altering my lever belt if I'm honest settled and it payed off
280 pass good speed
300 pass not bad but knew I had a last dead
310 pass hardest lift of the day a full max effort hands were shredded.
Total 812.5 very happy as I believe my absolute predicted max would only have been 815 with a bit more in bench. Good experience getting used to commands overall winner on day by about 80 Wilkes points even though I was 20 kilos heavier.
Plan now 1 week recovery stuff
1 week accumulate to off season and lighter intensity but higher volume in time for summer 2 hour sweat sessions
