Steroid is bad for you BUT there are a lot of worse things you can do to yourself, such as living the typical British lifestyle and eating like an average Brit! Always find it ironic that “drug-free" powerlifters/strongmen find it perfectly acceptable to get FAT as f**k in the name of strength (GBPF Bingo team), but will not do steroids cos its unnatural and bad for you... ummmm no, I'd rather stay light, strong and unnatural than be big fat and natural (much worse for you IMO)... Kinda like those fat people ordering a s**t loads of crappy takeaway food and asking for a diet coke.... IRONY??

Having said that I think Michael Bridges or Sivokon could be also be rated the best. Bridges did 955kg at 82.5kg with a raw bench of about 240kg and raw deadlift of 350. Sivokon did 320, 237.5, 318 at 67.5kg with inferior equipment in the early 2000's. Both of these lifters also won multiple majors. There are guys who are on the verge of out-totaling him RAW! How is he the best? Truth be told we will likely never know how strong he really was! I'm sure he still got decent carryover from his equipment!

Ben_F said: Also maybe that he is a smaller guy and even though the weights lifted for his size are phenomenal they do not grab people's attention like the heavier lifters. Ironic that the strongest fat guys get no respect either! Brian Siders, Malanchiev are all physically stronger than Ed and almost out total him RAW! So the greatest powerlifter simply the most popular lifter who is not a fatass or narrowback?
