Had a good session today. My snatching is feeling like its getting faster every session, and my shoulder flexibility is becoming better as the weights go up..

Cleans where a little sluggish tonight but felt strong never the less..

Snatched up to 120 for 2 singles..
first 120 was slightly forward but felt like i nailed the second single...

Cleans..
Went up to 160 for a double.. Felt strong on the pull..

Back Squat..
Went up to 200kg for 3x3 and that s**t felt heavy.. Need to seriously get my back squat back up to some sort pf respectable weight!!

Heres the vid of 120kg Snatch and 160kg Clean for a double...

No more strongman? You were my favourite for salt ayre!

No mate.. I was going to compete in the Salt Ayre comp still, but with me wanting to compete in november i dont want to risk injury training strongman.. plus i need to concentrate on bringing my bodyweight down..

Cheers guys..

Im sticking with just the Olympic weightlifting mate.. I think that strongman will slow my progression as i really need to concentrate on the technical side of things..

Bodyweight right now is 120kg.. im way off the 105kg i want to be but confidant i will lose it in time for my first comp back..

Im confidant that i should be ready to compete this november at a Northern Championships.. mainly to get some platform time back as its been 4 years since i last did a weightlifting competition..

Had a chat with coach Clegg last night to sort out my goals and some sort of structure to my training..

So far ive had 2 weeks of basically seeing where im at with my olympic lifts. This has led me to believe that right now i am slow and abit sluggish with the lifts. I seriously need to work on my flexibility as 4 years of strongman has made me the most un flexible person about..

Heres some lifts from the last 2 weeks...

Snatch 100kg/110kg

Clean and Jerk 150kg/160kg

Front Squat 200kg

Right.. i have now tried my hand at Strongman.. Bloody great sport with top athletes and some awesome competitions.. Ive come from an Olympic Lifting background which has helped me a hell of alot through my time in Strongman..

I havent lifted in a weightlifting comp in over 4 years and my last comp was the British U-18s Championships which i won, in 2008

ive been watching the Olympics and as usual ive been thinking too much..The Commonwealth Games are in Scotland in 2014. so i thought f**k it! why not get my head down and have ago at training for the Commonwealth trials..

So this will be my new training journal to follow my lifting..

I will be competing in the 105kg class..

ive got some goals in mind that i think are within me with the right hardwork and training..

Will put the odd vid on aswell..
