Hey Paul,

Your stated Numbers are for the old Rolling thunder Version?
I could lift 146kg double overhand with fat gripz.
But at that time i could never ever lift 80kg on the new rolling thunder handle.
On a thickbar dumbbell 5cm i can lift 80kg and a 75kg dumbbell with fat gripz
Is this a normal ratio or am i just absolutely bad at rt lifting?
Also no grip training what so ever carried over to the rolling thunder.

Obviously he is doing 400kilos in training regularily and before his 460 he did several workouts of 400k for 4-5 reps (touch and go but still). However these heavier workouts are probably not in the last couple of weeks before contest.
What I like about both Benni and Savickas is that they pull with perfect form which is nice to see. There are a lot of uncontrollable "s**tty" positions in strongman events. No reason to make deadlifts one of them, from a injury risk point of view.. (obviously the kilos count though, and if hitching is allowed, you should probably know how to hitch)

The heaviest lift he did this time was 1 with 400kg.but still 445kg is way above 400kg.
Also i think touch and go is his favourite. Most people can lift more repititions with t&g.I can lift considerably less weight t&g

just beastly.
he always trains pretty light in comparison to his competition maxes.
heaviest pulls were 380 x 2 in training easy and light and 445kg heavy in competition.does anyone else train like this? i always thought that you have to train heavy the last weeks to get used to those weights...

also i think zydrunas could pull over 450kg in his current shape.
with a hitch etc.

He was 5th - didn't get all the way. Shaw was third and did complete. The results are a page or two back.
People doubt him 'cause he's getting old for the strongman game (39 I think). He's got to start trailing off soon, but not yet obviously. What a f**kin' beast! All these guys are, but for a guy to stand out in a field like this for all the years he has is just unbelievable. His static strength across all events probably truly makes him the strongest man to have ever lived.
Can't wait to see the video of that deadlift.

there you go mate Happy

you know many people on here doubted him....i didnt understand that.
The Big Z proved it againGrin How did he place on the 400kg carry up the ramp?

i think z could very well press a 120kg dumbbell strict.
but as terry said, his technique with this huge dumbbell is not good.
with a normal dumbbell he pressed 120kg x 5 easy.

No straps allowed.
Shaw still has monstrous grip.look at his recent blobzilla clean with the thumb on the round side.
But i think burke will win this event.but maybe somebody suprises us completely

i think timber may goes to mike burke with his monstrous grip.
And Deadlift will be between Z and Shaw.
Dumbells Lalas or Z

HAAAAAAA!!! BIG Z the legend.
I knew Zydrunas will kick ass...Most of you thought Shaw would get at least the Yoke
Zydrunas doesnt put videos of his training online like the other guys so nobody knows how strong he is.
I hope he will win the whole thing.

Zydrunas bench from 2011 was in his offseason . The man is capable of standing shoulder press (no legs) with more than 210 kg from a rack , so I bet he can bench near 300kg with pause if he trains for , also his deadlift is close to 440 no hitching , and his squat is close to Malanichev . If he concentrates on powerlifting I'm sure nobody will come close to him . Radzikowski can also be a top raw powerlifter if he trains for .
And don't forget there is big difference training over 20 strongman events + powerlifting and only powerlifting .

Thats what i am trying to say...i know its not confirmed but i believe wildauer and he told me that he has seen a video on the cell phone of big z doing standing shoulder press with 240kg x 2.....
radzikowski can raw bench 300kg according to himself.

WSM Competitor Martin Wildauer told me about a conversation he had with zydrunas.
zydrunas said he doesnt bench anymore but if he likes to, there is always something between 250-270kg.There is a 2011 video where he tng presses 250 pretty easy.
In preparation for wsm a year or so ago he squatted 420 for a double with belt and wraps.
