10/7

Paused squats

205 * 3, 3, 3.

Sldl

210 * 3,
220 * 3, 3.

Yoke

160 * 10m, 10m,
210 * 10m,
260 * 10m, 10m,
sleeves on
300 * 10m.

Lying single leg curls

45 * 12,
55 * 12,
65 * 6.

Seated calf raises

40 * 10, 20, 20.

Toe presses

160 * 20, 20, 20.

Leg presses

160 * 12, 12, 12.

Much better session today, though stuck with my reduced volume plan, hence 3 work sets instead of 5.
Yoke felt very good, tried out some new footwear and really liked it. Even the 300 moved well, despite my training yoke being a very rickety piece of kit.

Looking forward to a rest day tomorrow, and then one more week of heavy training bbefore deloading for elite Englands.

Tough day today, tough week in general. Glad its done with. Dropped the volume for tomorrows session as well, and then a day off on Saturday to go watch Europes.

8/7

Beltless speed squats

185 * 2, 2, 2.

Beltless squats

205 * 2,
215 * 2,
225 * 4 - pb?

Only a very brief session today, 30mins from getting to car park to leaving. Stomach is still a bit tender, so didnt want to risk anything too heavy or squeeze into my belt.
Squats felt good and quick.

Deadlift triples and front squats tomorrow.

So i took ill on sunday afternoon, and spent a good chunk of yesterday throwing up at work. As such i didnt train yesterday, and wasnt expecting much from todays pressing.

7/7

Close grip bench press

120 * 5,
122.5 * 5, 5, 5,
130 * 5 - final rep paused.

Incline press

100 * 5,
107.5 * 5, 5, 5, 5.

Slight incline alternate db press

30 * 6,
35 * 6,
40 * 6,
45 * 6.

Dips

6, 6, 12.

Surprisingly strong session considering.

The plan is to get some truck pull practice in tonight, and then a brief squat session before physio tomorrow to make up for the session i missed last night.

EDIT

7/7 Session 2

9660kg double decker bus pulls

With a tailwind

25m, 25m.

Into a headwind

Two complete failures,
2 or 3m.

Fairly strong wind tonight, which meant the first two runs were shockingly easy.
Turned the bus around which meant pulling into a headwind and completely failed to get it started. By this point a small crowd had arrived and the pressure was on as i strapped in for my 3rd at final attempt.
Managed to get the big f**ker moving, but hit an uphill and stopped very abruptly.

I was suffering from fairly bad chest cramps at this point and running out of oxygen so decided to call it a day.

Got home and jumped on the scales to learn that my two days of illness have cost me a stone of bodyweight and i am currently sub 20st. Fortunately im confident i can get my weight back up towards the 21st barrier by the end of the week.

Ive also been invited to do the elite englands final in a couple of weeks. The events are fairly different to what ive been training, but im not sure i can say no to a national final in my first year of competing.

Light tacky
110 * 3, 3,
130 * 3 - pb

Good session today, got some solid graft done, and a big pb on stones.

Soild session on the shoulders and tris today. Pretty happy with the overhead numbers going up. Push presses were very comfortable after the first set.

Sldl and back are the agenda for tomorrow.

Things are a little quiet in terms of big one off lifts from the Hall camp at the moment tho.

Does anyone know if the injuries he picked up have gone??

Eddie claims he isn't in the same form he was at Arnolds, but still believes he can match his 462, but 'it wont come up that easy this time'.

Europes isn't the priority for him, he has never made a secret that Worlds is the contest he wants to win, so that's what his year is based around.

I still expect him to win the DL champs, but I think Europes will go to big Thor again.

2/7

1 power clean strict log

70 * 2, 2,
80 * 5, 5, 5,
85 * 3.

Log 1 motions

90 * 1, 1,
95 * 1.

Deadlifts

180 * 3,
220 * 3,
260 * 3,
280 * 2.

Wide grip pulldowns

V grip pulldowns

1 arm machine rows

60 * 6,
80 * 6,
100 * 6.

Decent session today, though a pulled muscle in my back did mean that my deads were slow, even though they didnt ever feel heavy.
The progress on the log is promising, will re-introduce leg drive at the weekend and see where things stand.

Get a team building day/bbq with work tomorrow so unsure if i will get the chance to train. If not then i will just have to work squats in over the weekend.

Your grip is just insane powerful. And who the f**k presses 105 for over 20 reps??

Awesome work big Sam.

Hope he does really well at the deadlift champs. Beating Bolton would be quite a scalp for him. Might be capable of that.

I'm thinking along these lines. Its hard to see George fighting for a win, even if he magically adapted to a suited pull with minimal training getting to 460 still seems unattainable.
But if he has a good day he could pull 430+ and take some big scalps, which for such a young guy in what will be by far the most competitive field he has ever lifted in would surely count as a good day at the office.

As for the set, that's a big pull, the bend on that bar and doing it TnG doesn't change the fact that he is pulling over 410kg for reps.

1/7 - through the day

CoC 2.0, reps each hand.

3, 3, 3.

CoC 2.0 reverse grip

3, 3, 3.

GYm session, 7pm start

Axle deadlift

110 * 5, 5, 5, 5,
110 * 5 + 10s hold - PB?

And now things started to go horribly wrong

Tyre flips

350 * 4, 4.

Fat grip farmers, drop + turn @15m

65 * 30m, 30m, 30m.

Wasnt surprised that tonight was such an arse dragging session. Last 2 days have been horrendously long, and only made it through today by consuming large amounts of caffeine and sugar, which sadly wore off around an hour before i was due to train.
Axle deads were good, grip felt solid despite the CoC work earlier in the day.
Tyre was atrocious, no power or explosion, plan was sets of 8, but rapidly realised i was flogging a dead horse.
