Any word on how Paul Smith is getting on? I know he was sitting in 3rd behind Tom and Nick going into the 2nd day. 2 Brits on the podium would be an immense feat for UK strongman.

Yoke

200 * 40m,
240 * 40m,
320 * 20m,
360 * 20m.

Frame carry

175 * 40m,
255 * 20m,
295 * 20m,
335 * 12m.

Tyre flip

280 * 3, 3, 3,
280 * 15 - PB.

A jolly good session today. Had a full house at the gym and really helped to blow off the cobwebs.
Yoke was fine, never close to a drop on any of the sets, and good foot speed.
Frame was also fast, though the final set was pretty much at the limit of my grip.
Tyre flip was just to get the lungs going, still one of my favourite exercises for conditioning work.
Final DB session tomorrow, then speed deads and front squats later in the week, and maybe some light chest as well.

10/10 for the slippers.

0/10 for all those liars claiming any feat without providing picture evidence.

StevenFatty said:There will be a magnetic field from the lamps. This will almost certainly be assisting the lift to an extent. Once you have exerted enough force through your arm to overcome conventional gravity, the magnetic field from the lamps will begin to pull the dumbbell upwards.

This is how elephants can raise their trunks and keep them raised. At first the trunks are heavy, but once the elephant have managed to get them into a raised position, the magnetic field from the sun keeps them raised. This is why you only find wild elephants in hot countries, and it is why elephants do not raise their trunks at nighttime.

There is just enough almost scientific sounding words in here that im pretty confident i could convince my wife this is actually true.

2/9

Monster DB

50 * 3, 3, 3, 3, 3,
60 * 1, 1.

Dead stop CGBP

100 * 3, 3,
120 * 2, 2, 2.

Felt much more human today. Not sure if its the deload starting to kick, or just a result of me feeling manly after a couple of hours working on the wife's car.
Great speed and explosion on the DB, starting to get a little controlled aggression in there as well which makes the cleans a lot easier.

Assisted squats, 2 * 3.

Assisted overhead squats, 2 * 3.

Beltless speed squats

140 * 3, 3,
160 * 3, 3,
180 * 3, 3, 3.

Late session tonight as i had physio beforehand. Not ideal, but the best available option this week.
Feeling pretty run down, but hoping some serious eating and a couple of less intense training sessions will get the energy levels back up.
» Leeman makes USD 20K+/month doing online coaching... (Go to post)01-09-2016 @ 18:02
^^ i agree with mostly what Boar is saying. I think internet only coaching heavily lends itself towards a cookie cutter approach, even if the coach doesnt deliberately start off with that in mind.

What i do think is a great idea and becoming quite popular now everyone has broadband are the coaches like John Clark and Tom Hibbert, who do most of their work online, but hold regular seminars, or have their clients down for a face to face session on a semi regular basis.

Surely they're a bit big for discus. Hammer throw would be better, their tails would be perfect for that.

This got me right in the funnies. Well played sir.

Still aching everywhere so going to deload going into the next comp. Will still hit all my training sessions between now and then, but will be using weights in the 50 - 80% range and focusing on speed.

This starts with squats tomorrow.
