Warmed up to 140
Attempt 1 - 150kg- went up fairly easy 3 whites
Attempt 2 - 160kg - went up, more difficult, my lack of training showed, 3 whites
Attempt 3 - 170kg - went up, bit of a grind, two whites and a red

Bench
Warmed up to 100
Attempt 1 - 105kg - went up with few problems - 3 whites
Attempt 2 - 110kg - went up, a bit slower - 3 whites
Attempt 3 - 112.5kg - went up, quite hard, never in doubt - 3 whites

Deads
Warmed up to 160
Attempt 1 - 180kg - went up fairly easy, as it should - 3 whites
Attempt 2 - 195kg - as 180 was easy jumped 15kg- mistakes - grind - 3 whites
No attempt 3

Total 477.5kg - easy qualification for national comps
Good and not so good. Squat and bench were definitely at the top end of expectations, while deads were undoubtedly below. My original aim was just 200, which I might have got if I went 190 then 200. Anyway, mission accomplished

Now back to training so the next comp I can lift something half decent

A lighter day for squat, but decided to not back off on bench. Bench was set up so did that first - last rep on each work set was slow. Did squats beltless to see if I could breathe better - did a single set of 15 which took more than a minute Roll-Eyes

Squats were tougher than I was hoping, struggled a little with positioning (weight too much over toes). Bench was great, touched a little higher on chest (I do all reps paused now, seem to have lost the ability to T&G).

Felt a bit tired today, so did a single set of 10 on bench (it was set up) and squat. On bench I ran out of strength (last rep was a grind), on squat I ran out of air (more there but I couldn't breathe).

My cold returned with a vengeance last week, another wasted week. Squats felt good, still working on my new position with more lean, and better bracing. Moved hands in a finger width on bench, first set was hard but rest felt strong.

Sun 28 Oct Squat / bench

Squat up to 155 x 3

Bench up to 110 x 3

Trained at LiftGymsUK in Edinburgh with my daughter. Squatted in the mono (first time ever), not realising that I don't unrack with my squat stance width - realised that after struggling and nearly breaking myself. Bench was s**t after that.

Lesson two was don't train before loading a van and driving 200 miles Roll-Eyes
