» Interesting article on PL and PEDs (Go to post)03-12-2014 @ 09:55
First point - guy drops over 200lbs from his total in 4 months... Last point - steroids will make you stronger for years after you finish taking them. Also, a little gem about muscle activation thrown in there too! The article was so coherent and researched, I can't wait to click on their article further down about gay men and blood donations!!
» How does one procure a scaffold pole? (Go to post)02-12-2014 @ 07:58
Buy some - it costs about a quid per foot; I bought 30ft friday and made 2 safety squat bars last weekend, loaded 250kg on one just to be sure and it didn't even bend. Scaffold is stronger than a regular bar it seems!

Personally, I find great mental and physical recuperative value in sitting on the s**tter for ~40minutes reading my phone internet. Which incidentally is how I best prepare to lift, too.

Personally, I find they help with the specificity of my competitive wa**er training. Girth, and wotnot.

Find a way to reverse spinal cord paralysis < make an elephant fluffier < omg did you see that sweaty b**ch on reality show #327?!?

Maybe at some point in the far future, an advanced alien species will discover our DNA map thingy on the moon, debate ressurecting us, then massively regret it when they get bottled for nowt by some drunk prick chucking plastic garden furniture about Marseille train station.

Anyone watching this? Really interesting, but he sounds exactly like the bad guy from the matrix (or the other way round, more likely), which is kind of distracting.
» Drug testing WSM rumour (Go to post)04-11-2014 @ 07:19
Maybe they'll go the whole hog and print the number of fully grown men/refrigerators it is like carrying up your nan's stairs straight on the side, instead of hiring a string of commentators to relay that precise information to us?
» Wrist Wrap recommendations (Go to post)20-10-2014 @ 11:28
Velcro went on my SS thors after a few months, so I bought some 99p ebay sweatbands (the 80's tennis style variety) and slide them over the wraps; never have they popped open or slipped since

Yeah I think you'd lose too much bodyheat if you had a wet hat on too, leave it off until you're 64% dry at least.

Seems to me they would make great volunteers for product testing, then the animal rights crowd would calm their s**t too. Also, with human subjects I bet diseases and stuff could be sorted quicker too.

ditto , waiting for haters of f**k all experience to say some negative s**t about the 1st man to deadlift thousand pound

I bet he's s**t at crossfit! Also I don't think he's thought carefully enough about the cut of his posing trunks or the shade of tanning oil he's going to use. My cousin benched like 450kg when he was doing trials for Leeds, but now he just does bw stuff and he's much stronger now.
» If Scotland gains it's independance... ?? (Go to post)15-09-2014 @ 10:49
Blue faced freedom jokes aside, i'm pretty curious how this might turn out politically: for decades now, our (british) political system has been a joke. We were never voting over what form of government we wanted (true left vs right, big vs small etc.), merely electing who we thought would best run the system already in place. Or more accurately, whichever personality we liked coupled with whose empty promises we believed more likely to be followed up on.

With independence, is there a possiblity for the meaningful decisions to be made, for true political and social change to happen from parties similar to the us tea party, for example? Libertarian vs. authoritarian, free vs. Managed capitalism, socialism, all that s**t. This could become an example of a different way to govern, a concrete example of fancy theories bandied around, the beacon of hope for humanity (alright maybe not!).

But does anyone think the powers that be (multinational corporations, the political classes, the shadowy lizard overlords etc) will allow this to happen, to undermine their positions of power and authority and risk their cushy lifestyles in the hope of something better for the proles, the unwashed masses? I've got a good supply of tinfoil hats, and you need to put one on!

Apparently there is a powerlifting team (forget the details, think I saw it on the bdfpla site or something) operating out of a college (queen Mary's springs to mind) in basingstoke. Or if you're not a bellend, you can lift in my garage.

Standard 2L pop bottle full of water (so you don't fizz up the pop and shoot the lid through your kids) works great in a pinch.

I would like to think the rest of my muscular and athletic self could pose a problem to a dog too, although a hyena would be pushing it!
