PeteHodgson said:So how come you're stronger now than when you used to train for strength??? Confused

When i trained purely for strength i always used to train low reps and not a lot of assistance work.

Since bodybuilding i never do anything less than 8 reps with most of my sets being 10-12 with the odd drop sets of 20+ when im feeling fired up.

Because im bodybuilding and training a lot of exercises i havent before im strengthing muscles i neglected in the past.

For example when i used to train legs i would squat then move onto bench in the same session. Now i do squats, leg press, GHR, leg extentions and calf raises all at high reps so obviously my legs are getting a lot more work then before.

Thanks guys - squats are the only thing worth logging at the moment as pretty much everything else i train is bodybuilding hence my lack of regular updates.

Sorry if i havent been commenting much on other peoples journals - dont really get much chance to get on here at the moment.

Nice squatting Chris. Have a day off from being gay and smash a PB!

Since you mention it I'm heading over to Junction on 8th November if your around for a session.

Yeah I dare say I've got more than 200kg in me but for now I'm happy keeping to a minimum of 8-10 reps on everything.

10x80g
10x100kg
10x120kg
8x140kg
8x160kg
8x180kg

Leg Press

Followed by GHR, leg extentions and calf raises.

I'm good mate - been grafting my arse off but nothing worth posting in here.

I'll have to check the date of the comp - if I can make it over then I'll be there to chat s**t & hurl abuse.

Had a decent week training - 120kgx14 bench and 75kgx17 strict Viking press spring to mind.

Thanks guys - im not back properly. Still mostly bodybuilding but I'll put the occasional post if I think it's worth mentioning.

Still very much alive albeit a little bit gayer than before. Can only imagine what words were exchanged when my name was brought up.

Hope your well mate.

Just thought I would post a quick update - not done anything really worth mentioning recently as it's been mostly bodybuilding but did some squatting this morning after not squatting for over 3 months.

Squats - Belt Only
10xBar
8x60kg
8x100kg
8x120kg
8x140kg
8x160kg
5x170kg
5x180kg

All very comfortable and within my comfort zone as I had no spotter. Probably best squatting I've done and after 3 months of training legs like a BB.

Really enjoyed the comp - was great to catch up with everyone.

Stand out performances for me were Robbo, Hubble and Ollie - not taking anything away from the rest of the guys though as everyone looked strong.
