I am pleased that they process my Fugu.

Absolutely ignore what I said regarding the "oscilation" - as per a post on the Pendlay thread the new rulebook (which I thought I was looking at but was not) clearly states only the athlete must be motionless.

Thumbs up!

RE: Klokov, I guess he must have "inherited" his tendency to wait from his Father, as I recall he used to do it too, though not to the same extreme.

Can't remember if he's addressed this at some point, it's probably on an interview on ATG or somewhere.

Interestingly the actual wording is fairly unclear, in that the first sentence does not always lead to the second. I can't post links from my phone but it's in the IWF Technical book.

I suspect this is , to paraphrase the old maxim: 'I can't define Obscenity but I know it when I see it'.

As for Mendes, I was referring to his frequent video updates creating interest in his training,

Oh, I quite agree - however I seem to recall 'hearing' the IWF were going to be stricter in future. Ilyin himself is noticeably motionless before commencing the jerk.

Funny thing is I remember having a conversation with a Marine Zoologist (at least I think that's what he called himself, it was 1998) based at one of the Southampton Uni's and he had a pet theory that Megaladon was substantially smaller and less awesome than generally believed.

Mind you he was pretty pissed (as was I) and we were stood in Jesters (which I have recently seen voted the crappiest Club in the country) so take that with a generous pinch of Sea Salt.

Normally yes.

My only slight concern is whether he would fall foul of a strict interpretation of 'oscilation' - although I suspect any jury who overturned his lift would never leave the building alive. Happy

Watching his training as he has built up from his year off has been very interesting - seeing how rarely the top guys compete I think it has built up a lot of interest (same with Mendes etc).

It would probably be easier just to eat your left testicle - although that would probably be a one shot deal!

I said:This is said somewhat tongue-in-cheek but I can see a 120kg Ilyin hitting 260 in a few years as well.

After last Friday 2kg less tongue-in-cheek. Happy

Not bad - not bad at all.

I think the general consensus was that you were being a bit of a prick so I don't think he's just being an Internet Warrior mate.

It's mainly used to give the meat colour and flavour I believe.

Yeah, I had allowed for that, was still showing a blank screen - then showed a player that conspicuously failed to play. Confused

Was gonna say, Weightlifting would be "marginal s**t sport" to most people, unfortunately.

Quite a number of people who know my interest in such things have told me that they watched and very much enjoyed the weightlifting they saw during the Olympics or Commonwealths (or whatever) - they then seem to immediately forget they've ever seen it.
