Delighted to announce Gym 300 will be hosting a Strongman Records day for the under 90kg strongman in Scotland. 22/08/15

The 3 records that will be attempting to be broken and set will be the log clean and press, raw deadlift and raw squat. Each athlete will have 3 attempts at each lift and must be completed within 60 seconds.

Log lift , will be cleaned from the floor and pressed above the head with a signalled lock out from a referee using IFSA LOG , single/double ply elbows sleeves, wrist wraps and belts
*NO TRIPLE PLY SLEEVES*

Deadlift , straps and belts allowed down signal once the lift has be fully locked out . Will be carried out on a Texas bar
*NO SUITS*

Squat , belts and knee wraps allowed , hips and knees must be parallel for successful squat there will be appropriate signals from the on hand referee
*NO SUITS*

The records that will be looking to be broken will be as follows

Log Press= 131kg current holder Jeremy Vickers

Deadlift= 323.5kg current holder Darryn Wright

Squat= There is no official record to date so whatever is squatted that day will stand as the record.

On hand on the day will be Stuart Murray as head referee and also making an appearance will be 2x Scotland's Strongest Man Luke Stoltman .

*No 24hr weigh in, Weigh in will be carried out on the day*

Yeah just the one side. Was my right tried to train threw it but got to the point where my right side was getting that weak it was causing an imbalance ! So had no option but to rest started to do a lot of rotator exercises with bands and stuff which is proving to help a lot!!

Knew you would say something ramsay lol no shoulder training for the best part of 6 months. Yeah give it another 4 weeks hopefully should be posting another video! 😉

After taking abit of time out training shoulders with an inpingement back training shoulders for 3 weeks hit a 147.5kg push press at 89kg bw , attempted 150 wasnt far away. http://youtu.be/jwJaH8lTifo

Gym 300 Strongman Comp
With the strongman competitive season underway which is looking to be a busy year throughout Scotland Gym 300 are pleased to announce they will be holding their 1st Strongman competition on Saturday 5th september, we will have Gym 300 sponsored Strongman Luke (The Highland Oak) Stoltman on hand refereeing and announcing also on hand will be another monster of strength Lukeís younger sibling Tom Stoltman.

Onsite catering on the day also.




Event 1. Max Deadlift , minimum starting weight will be 250kg

Event 2. Loading Race 95kg keg, 100kg granite stone, 110kg sandbag, 126kg anvil all items will have to be loaded to a height of 42 inches.
All implementís to be carried from 10m.

Event 3. Yoke run/husafell stone carry, 320kg yoke over 15m then return with 100kg husafell stone drops will be allowed with the yoke but no drops with the husafell stone. (90 secs)

Event 4. Thor hammer hold head to head hammers weight 15.5kg

Event 5. Shoulder Medley 75kg giant dumbbell onto 120kg log clean and press then finish with 100kg natural granite stone (90 secs)
All items to be pressed above head signalled lock out

Event 6. Atlas Stones over yoke for reps 135kg, 145kg, 160kg, 1 rep of heavier stone beats any amount of reps at the lighter stone, yoke height will be 52 inches . (75 secs)

Competitors list will be capped at 10 competitors but there will be also a reserves
All events may be subject to *change*

1st £250 plus trophy
2nd £200 plus trophy
3rd £100 plus trophy


Trophies for top 3 and medals for the rest. And there will be £100 bonus prize on the day for any one that can beat the Scottish Deadlift Record at there bodyweight category.

This event will be free for spectators but will be donation buckets on the day for local charities

Yeah basically probaly trained biceps a hand full of times this year , heavy benching seems to effect it aswell but with doing strongman training at the moment my arms get worked out doing log etc. Happy

http://youtu.be/etc8BbYHfTE nah didnt have sleeves on doing the 200. When i 1st started training young and stupid i did alot of straight bar curling which has resulted in getting bicep tendonitis every time i do any sort of heavy pressing real pain in the butt!

After over a year of trying to beat my previous 200kg bench i finally managed it tonite had sleeves on but they werent that tight with them being knee sleeves just prefer wearing them due to bicep tendonitis Unhappy http://youtu.be/MW0tplK-JR4
