I'll give it a go! Seriously, I reckon that 95/125 might be the closest thing to a realistic target.

I was thinking of maybe 99.576876/120.423124 but I'm not sure that they manufacture the necessary plates.Wink Wink

I was just making a jokish reference to the amount of strength that you seem to have gained this year. Also, considering vegans are supposed to be 10 stone geeks with 9 inch necks, I think it's even more impressive.Grin

A statement released by Greater Manchester Police:

"During a raid in the early hours of this morning, we found a 1050kg of JoniBol at the defendant's address. We have been tracking Mr Purmonen for a considerable amount of time as we did not believe that it was possible for a vegan to gain such considerable strength without the assistance of illegal performance enhancing drugs(Editor's note: Two officers have spent several months, undercover, at both Sugden and Adlington). We only realised the potency of the drug when it, last night, emerged that Jonny Mills' wife gained 27kg (yes twenty-seven kilograms) of pure muscle after taking JBI (JoniBol Isolate) for only 6 days.

We had no choice but to act immediately. It is with much regret that Mr Purmonen has been deported back to the isolated forests of Finland as the Great British Powerlifting team were hoping to poach him."

When asked to comment Mr Purmonen simply stated, 'Aye, continue'

Cheers Olly!! Yeah I'm doing various bits of training. I've done lots of deadlifting recently including 'rack' pulls, platforms and regular DLs.

Upper body, I've done lots of OH pressing including: tricep bar presses (in an attempt to replicate the log), regular barbell presses and single arm dumbbell presses.

Upper back: Regular and single arm barbell rows.

I've gotta say that I've not been squatting. I've got no excuses either. Embarassed Unhappy Eek

The hat has an invisible force fieldGrin

Don't worry, I didn't count that last half rep as a full rep. Glad you reckon that my left arm is locked out OK. BTW, I reckon because of the potential danger, you've got to be thinking of when you are going to drop the weight with an overhead rock press for reps. Balls to the wall failure can be kept for deadlift hold or something Wink

I've been practicing on the same rock since the other day. Now that I've got used to handling the stone my reps are flying up.

I'm hoping for 10 by this time next week.

I've got a few rocks in the garden and this one weighed in at 80kg (admitedly on dodgy bathroom scales).

Pretty hard to lock out the left arm due to the uneven distribution of weight.

You get a good shot of the powerbelly. Plus, what kind of dickhead lifts rocks barefooted?
» Religion... (Go to post)08-09-2007 @ 21:01
As Titch pointed out, religion is an extremely pointless debate because 99% of people will never really be swayed from their gut instinct.

I am far from surprised at the amount of people that reject organised religion. However, I AM surprised at the lack of distinction between 'organised religion' and 'spirituality'. I also find interesting the declarations of atheism that are based on a dislike/hatred of the church etc. (organised religion).

Impressive. I didn't realise the site was so young. With having so many videos, articles, members etc. I assumed that it was older.

Thanks mate! I appreciate that!!!

What I didn't mention in the post was that we already have a two year old daughter. That's why I already know about the time and effort that you need to put into your family.

So you and Mr Mills trained yesterday!! I was thinking of trying to make a few sessions again. HERE COME THE EXCUSES: It just seems like I've had a lot on recently. The wife is only two days away from having our baby and, for whatever reason, I've been expecting the baby to arrive 'today' for about the last 8 weeks. Seeing that I'm making excuses - I've even been doing quite a bit of the housework. The arrival of the baby will put me out of action for a good few weeks.

However, when the really hard part has been and gone, I want to make sure that I'm ready to compete next year. Will you and Millsy be training every week? If so, have you/will you have a regular day and time?

I'm planning on having a (friendly) rivalry with both of you on the log - all events really. So you better not waste any more time. In fact find yourself a 24 hour gym RIGHT NOW.

Good luck with the comp next week.
