I think this is a new category. We've all heard of quarter, half and full squats. I think this is a one and a quarter squat.Eek

Back on track Pete. Good session.

Forget the other day - 2 days rest isn't enough and you know it. You'll nail the set/reps next time after a proper rest.

You coming to the dungeon this week?

Cheers Jonny. I want to be at the dungeon but the Mrs, just as she did last weekend, is doing the big "you always get what you want" routine.

What day and time is the planned sesh?

maybe not so much the session itself as your planning, just two days after heavy OH and in the rain, you were destined not to nail a great session there mate!

You're right - shocking planning. I was only wise AFTER the event.

I'm just so desperate to get my OH pressing to a decent/good level. About 3 years ago, from the rack, I push pressed 120kg for a single. OK, not outstanding but not bad either.

Simply shocking session tonight that I abandoned about a quarter of the way in.

20th November

Push Press(1 clean per set)

30kg X 10
60kg X 5
92.5kg X 2 Rep 2 was a real grinder - WTF??? 90kg was flying, really flying on the early sets the other day.
92.5kg X 1 Nearly got rep 2 but WTF, WTF???????????????
92.5kg X failed clean WTF???????????????????????????

SESSION ABANDONED - I train overheads outside and OK it was raining and the bar was getting wet. Also the soles of my trainers were getting wet which didn't help my footing but still. Other two excuses are that I only trained this lift two days ago and finally that the discs were slipping on the bar cause I didn't use collars.

Probably the most disappointing session in my whole on/off lifting life.Angry Angry Angry Angry Unhappy Unhappy Unhappy Angry Angry Unhappy Embarassed Embarassed Unhappy Angry Eek Roll-Eyes Eek Eek Embarassed Unhappy Eek

Sunday 18th November

Push Presses(1 clean per set)

10 X 30kg
5 X 60kg
2 X 90kg
2 X 90kg
2 X 90kg
2 X 90kg
2 X 90kg
2 X 90kg
2 X 90kg
1 X 90kg - missed the first rep, then got the rep, then missed my 2nd rep totally

Good sesh overall but really wanted to round it off by finishing that last set properlyUnhappy I think that everything went at once : timing, energy, confidence etc.

Despite the deadlift session being brutal I didn't fell any DOMS the next day, However, that morning, I ran a few hundred yards for the bus and my calves started cramping, my 'shin' muscles were agony about half an hour later and I've hardly been able to walk for the last 36 hours. AND, I didn't even catch the f**kin bus.

14th November

Deadlifts - regular

5 X 87.5kg - what was left on the bar from the other day
3 X 100kg
3 X 140kg
1 X 170kg
2 X 200kg
2 X 200kg
2 X 200kg
2 X 200kg
2 X 200kg
2 X 200kg - VERY TOUGH BY NOW
2 X 200kg - f**kING TOUGH
2 X 200kg - f**kING BRUTALLY TOUGH

'Inhales on the pipe' - In the first few months of next year, I'd like the 8 doubles to be around the 225kg mark. 'Inhales again'
