13/11/13

Not a great session. Let's leave it at that.

Be honest, mate, you'd stumbled across my journal and you were going to show how easy it is to deadlift 200 x 20 Wink

Haha I had not! But now that I have seen it...

It really would be (very straightforward) 'cardio' for you mate but you know that already. Your deadlifting is just insane. Happy

Personally, I just like little 'challenges' so that I don't get stuck in a rut.

Why would anyone with a 340+ pull want to do 200kg for reps? Roll-Eyes Wink

I was gonna do 20 but got bored and realised that was stupid. Was only in the gym as I was helping someone with their pull Happy

I thought that I'd do a bit more training for the '200 x 20' deadlift. I got 16 reps with 205 kg this morning. I managed it about 10 seconds quicker than my '200 x 15' from 48 hours ago

I'm guessing that there were no warm-ups for the strict presses.

Edit: Did the "short bike rides" consist of a single revolution (of the pedals) before the bike was carried back into storage?

A 240 kg squat, at the very least, is better than "average".

I had a 'bit of a go' at deadlifting 200 kg for 20 reps this morning. I managed 15. And, yes, I re-chalked a few times (just in case one or two people get upset that I 'lost contact' with the bar).

200 x 20, as long as the last few reps are 'rest-pause', should be very achievable by the end of the month.

I'm nearly two months too late but that is incredible - as are most of the "random numbers" in this log.

Lol. Like I said though, six years on, I'm a bit embarrassed by the whole thing. I don't know what's the worst:

> my hair
> my 'powerbelly'
> my 'theatrics' after the final rep
> the touch-and-go aspect of the reps
> the 'averageness' of the overall 'achievement'

Embarassed

f**k you, Sparrow Wink

I was hoping that video was no longer around.

It's just increased my resolve to (partially) redeem myself; by completing 200 kg for 20. No touch and go reps, this time, either.

I'm going to have a go on Wednesday. Happy

(In fact, I think that I'll watch that video immediately prior to the attempt.)

Lol. I suppose that it was a bit amusing but, in hindsight, it was pretty poor as an 'achievement' - especially considering how tough I found it.

WILLSAN said:200x20 would be cool.

HOWEVER, I'd like to think that 200x20 would be half decent.

Sparrow said:Comfortable? Did you not feel sick after that? 200 would be pretty ridiculous for 20. It's my goal for 10.

Do you remember your 100 rep set, with 140 was it? You were f**kED after that. FatPete did not approve when you walked outside into the freezing cold after, drenched in sweat, in just your t-shirt...

I'm not trying to play a 'hardman', yesterday's 20 reps were quite easy - I was surprised as I predicted that I'd feel like quitting after 15. I'm not that great with singles, doubles and triples but I have decent endurance on sets in the 10-20 range.

I'm a bit embarrassed about the '100-rep set' as it was only 100 kg - unfortunately. You're right, I was completely f**ked from that - I was in very poor shape. I do remember that FatPete disapproved of 'something'. I'll trust you that you've remembered the correct reason. Wink

I'll get 200 kg x 20 on Youtube (and here) before the end of November.
