Hi Paul.

Interesting read as ive got back problems due to a deadlift i did 4months ago.
It resulted in pain around the lower back, more specifically,my spine just above the coxic (dont know how to spell that) and pain either side of my spine beneath the spinal errectors.

The pain is worse when i lean forward (like performing a deadlift) and when sitting down and letting my pelvis take my weight and also leaning forward whilst sitting down.

Ive picked peoples brains on this site as its really bugging me.
Had physio and been to a chiropractor once which i coughed up for.
The chiro did a lot of stretching and bending and cracking etc which wasnt much use.
The physio gave me some stretching exercises to combat the pain in my spine area.
They involved laying on my front and pushing my torso off the floor, breathing out and holding for 10secs. The other was laying on my back and bringing my knees to my chest whilst lifting my torso off the floor towards my knees. Hold for the same count.
These really worked for the pain related area, but as for the pain either side of my spine, i havnt found much to help. Just been working on core work.

A chiro didnt help me much but after recieving advice on the forum i have been reccomended an osteopath. The are apparently more about the alignment and curvature of the spine and are qulified to re-align the spine wheras a chiro isnt.
This may prove beneficial for your problem.
Sports realated osteopaths are probably the best bet.

Could have said that in a shorter post but sounds like your problem and reason behind it is similar to mine!
Between us we will get to the bottom of it!!

Good luck and stay away from aggrevating it until its looked at.

I'll be down from about 4.30 on Thursday.

Do you mind if i turn up around the same time mate and have a go?

Would be a better time for me to travel and dont want to venture into the unknown on my own!

Embarassed

little sods indeed!

i deadlifted a few months ago mate and when id done my set i could barely walk.

Seem to have f**ked something either side of my lower back. Leaning forward and deadlifting is a big no no.

Had no proper diagnosis on it, just a pathetic physio which didnt help!

Training Today

Front Squats

bar x 10
60kg x 5
100kg x 5
140kg x 5
150kg x 4, f 5th (fell out the arms)
130kg x 5,5

Hamstring, calf, abs.

Couldnt be arsed today, bar was s**t, had skinny bar and couldnt hold it on the shoulders, crap effort with the front squats whatever the excuses.
