Small - was a gem of a pinch Grin

Training Yeasterday - 24-4-09

Axle Press warm ups

50kg x 5 x 2

10'' Diameter Log Press (1 clean, all presses from chest)

68kg x 5
68kg x 5
88kg x 3
100kg x 1 (very messy, all over the place)
100kg x 2 (much better)

90kg x 7 (each rep cleaned and pressed) Couldnt breathe, so unfit

Farmers Walk

100kg x 40m
142kg x 20m PB
130kg x 20m

Incline Car Pull - Vauxhall Vectra

20m x 2 clicks on Handbrake
20m x 2 clicks for 10m,3 clicks for 10m

Happy with the session today after my back going on wed. Painkillers have helped and its settling down again.

Log Press - Happy as its first log press since the comp on 15th march

Farmers - Chuffed with the PB, but was very slow!

Car Pull - Pile of s**te at these, dont know tachnique (if there is any). Bodyweight seems to help as my mate who weighs a stone more finds it easier.
Bulking up is the new mission!

Cheers fellas.

Think and osteo and glutamine is the next step then.

JC - You must have the same doctor as me as they are the first two questions he asks me!

Once steroids have been mentioned thet wud rather suck s**t through a sweaty sock than help you.

As for cortisones done that quickly - What a f**king awesome doctor!

I posted this in one of the other threads.

If i pull a muscle etc i mega dose on glutamine for a few days. gets me back on track quicker. 20-30g a day.

Might try that then.

Feels like its more than a muscle though. Feels like laigaments or tendons or could be a disk problem but well worth a try

robbo you know you can insist that your doctor reffers you to a back specialist, as you injured you back doing a hobby which you make no income from.

i didn't know this until very recently. might worth a try

Thats good to know mate. I used to be with Bupa before i got made redundant from work and it would have been sorted by now.

I have lost all faith in the NHS and the physio who treated my back was another chocolate teapot!

Yeah mate, using the old rest, ice etc principal.

Just wondering if anyone has any other tricks to sort the mess out and if anyone has had the same problem.

Knowing me i will only only go f**k it up again when its nearly recovered!

As some of you guys know ive had a back injury and was getting better then went and f**ked it yesterday again, deadlifting again!

Bit different this time, went to pull the bar at bottom position and something went snap, twang, pop or watever to the left side of the spine of lower back.

Hurts like f**k sitting down and leaning forward and also standing up and leaning back.

PLEASE HELP!!

s**t news about the back mate, but dont beat yourself up over the axle, a 115 power clean is pretty good IMO.

Cheers bud. Axle cleans and presses are very satisfying to do just want to build up pressing power again.

Need to nail my clean technique if im going to up the weight though

Bummer about the back. Just as the elbow got better too! Sounds like you know what to do. I've had loads of back probs in the past, can take a long time to sort out. since starting strongman though I've been fineConfused Must be all the core work or something.

Yeah mate, know what to do but unfortunately it involves no deadlifting and no more comps this year.

I just need to be patient which is something im not very good at.Angry

most of the world would do the same - i 'put on an extra 10' the other week and my back didnt thank me for it , and busting your ipod ?? DOUBLE BUMMER !!

Suppose your right mate, was just so tempting as a few months ago 250 was nothing.

Never done heavy singles and was planning to fly past 300 soon and now its got dissapointing again!

Going to f**k deads off for another long period of time and try and slowly build up everything else and my back in the process!
