I pretty much agree with this. Unless Shaws title hangs in the balance he has no reason to go head to head with Ed and risk losing face.
Unlike Thor who is always chasing WRs and publicity the only things that seem to matter to Brian are winning WSM and beating Z.

He was actually going to do the 2014 comp he was just injured on the day. 2015 he was getting married. I am pretty sure he said he wants to pull a huge deadlift as one of his goals for next year. I reckon he will do it.

Z won't do it. But he has enough WRs in his day so no need to chase it.

Has he got 460kg plus in him though? I'd like to see someone put some pressure on Ed.
I just hope Z comes out to play, and Benni makes a strong return... But I don't see them going 460 plus. I hope I'm wrong though.

Of course he has 460 in him. Thor pulled 450kg, Shaw is without a doubt better than Thor at deadlift.

Last year the two main strongmen events had deadlift...max deadlift at Arnold's ..Shaw won and at WSM they had heavy deadlift from just below regular height...Shaw won.

Spoto is on his way back from injury, Shaw always seems to be injured at the times of the big lift events.

2014 he was actually there and going to do it but felt a pull and decided against it rather than get a major injury. He got married this year. I reckon he will do it next year and pull something massive.

The last event looked great, would be good to see that at WSM with flagpoles up to 400kg.

Also Ed's calves looked ridiculously muscular. I knew the Icelandic guys have big calves, didn't realise Ed's were so big also.

The Russians are just strong at the minute. In the last week or so they've took the bench WR, squat WR, clean & jerk WR and overall weightlifting WR. Supposedly there is another stronger weightlifter as well.

America need to up their game, Shaw needs to do the deadlift comp next year and Spotto needs to return.

What can he actually squat? I have seen a non hitched 400kg deadlift, I would assume his squat is better.

Pretty sure I read he was going to get the bench record, then go for overall if he can get used to knee wraps and then start strongman.

He doesn't seem to have a stength weakness...his grip is ridiculous.

Place to show it is the Arnold's. Z was dominant last year on the log and 2014 Z on the tyre deadlift was immense. So we will see.

this was 2-3 weeks before Arnolds 2015

maybe he just trains like this to prevent injuries before competitions

He said at seminar he was good for 500 squat peaking for Arnold. (it comes from a person who was at the seminar)

Z squated 425 in 2004 in a powerlifting meet.

Thanks for the info.

Do you know if Z's back is back to 100%? It wasn't that bad anyway I guess considering some of his lifts last year.

Is this a video of recent training? Doesn't he normally cut weight in the off-season...

Agreed..If he gets an Arnold invite and does a build up he should be lifting big on the log by then.

Watched and enjoyed. Both Shaw and Eddie look ridiculously strong. I actually forgot how well Eddie done here...he was great on the static stuff as per usual but also great on some very heavy moving events.

unbeliavable strength

I kind of disagree. Benni beat him last year and could come back stronger, Shaw won deadlift at Arnold's and WSM...Thor just pulled 450kg and could get stronger if he bulked more. Who knows what a fully healed up Z could pull...his deadlifting in 2014 was amazing at both Arnold comps.
